It all sounds like trying to drive a car in Italy; its crazy, its wild, and you have to be on guard to get to your destination.

Going back to the OP's question:

Money is the typical first form of requested bona fide ness on CM.
Second would be a wanking picture

In nine years on CM I have never done either.

Be Well

Can't say I agree with that one, Guy.  I haven't needed money to talk to anyone.  Wanking pics are usually a good way to get people not to talk to you.

Failed sarcasm, thinly veiled bitterness? I can't decide.

Maybe it's a two-fer?

Ah, multitasking!!! So surprising in the male.

(with apologies to Leadership, I CANNOT resist teh snark!![;)])

Suprised. I thought that women divorced men who could multitask.

Proof that they can read. And proof that they have an IQ over 20. I don't think the mentally challenged should be subs. In a way it is kind of dangerous for them. One way to prove your low IQ is to BAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW when I say very clearly that I am not at all interested. Who is the dominant again? (yes this is a true story. Many times. And most of these are females [8|] even though I do not want a female.)

FamilyofM -> RE: What do you require before you even speak with a sub? (9/3/2010 10:17:58 AM)

More than a one sentence or one word message. The ability to send an intelligently written message or introduction. The ability to be polite and patient. Sending pics with naughty bits showing is a turn off, especially ass to camera photos. So someone who presents themselves in that manner will get no where with me.

Just my $.02. Your mileage may vary.

Take care.

partial sarcasm partial typical request for me on CM

I also require them to be coherent and at least seemingly intelligent.  The ablility to complete full sentences and not use text speak is 100% necessary.  "Hi, how R U?  I want 2 b ur slave."  That's an automatic NO, delete and block.

Text speak is a death sentence.  The beauty of language destroyed.  I'm with you hon.

I'm new here and quite overwhelmed with messages begging for My time.  I'm wondering what everyone else requires before they talk to a would-be submissive.  At this point, I have decided to require a photo (face and body) as well as a detailed list of their taste in books and music before I even consider giving them any of My time.

That's a great place to start. Spell out exactly what you require in your profile. Then when you get responses that don't follow your instructions or clearly contradict what you have stated within your profile, you'll know that person is a fake, a liar, a troll, stupid and/or all of the above. Plus you can weed out most of the stupid morons who contact you by blocking them.

It's utterly amazing to Me how I can tell potential subs, through My profile, who are interested in contacting Me, to write a letter of introduction and yet I still receive one or two line, text chat stupidity.

Further, it's a sad commentary on one's comprehension level who reads My profile, knows that he doesn't fit what I'm looking for, and still decides to make contact. It's like that person thinks he's the special one who, despite not being what I'm looking for, I will somehow grant him an exception.

That's quite impressive.

They don't actually read your profile-they send everyone the same message. It's not that they think you'll think they are special, it's that sending out the same mail to 100 people with a 1% success rate is much less work and much more likely to be successful than reading profiles, selecting one and then writing and sending out an individual mail with, say, a 70% success rate (which is a ridiculously generous estimate).
