Malinkinius, that does sound fun, Daddy probably wouldn't let me cook like that though, he wouldn't trust me to be safe with the fire probably thinks I am a little fire bug, lol. But, I could chalk it up to "but Daddy I am cooking your breakfast" quote:
ORIGINAL: Malkinius {fast reply} Greetings all..... This is not exactly what the OP is looking for but close enough. This is from my scouting days and counts as things I learned from my mother. (65 years in Girl Scouts) It does require a small fire, say six inches in diameter, a dixie cup, a small paper lunch bag and a stick. Also a couple of strips of bacon and a raw egg and some water. Start the fire, flames are just fine, punch a small hole in one end of the egg, put water in the dixie cup, the egg in the cup so it is in the water, the cup in the fire. Then put the bacon in the sack, the stick through the top of the sack to support it and hold the paper sack over (not in) the flames while the bacon fries. in about 3-4 minutes the egg will be hard boiled, the bacon fried, the sack greasy but unburnt and the top of the dixie cup burnt to the water line. Enjoy breakfast. <grins> Yes, I have done this. Add a piece of bread which you just eat while cooking the rest of the food and of course, just one match to light the fire. The last time I did this took about twenty-thirty minutes from gathering the wood to putting out the fire. I had been practicing. <grins> Your time will vary. Be well..... Malkinius
