I wasn't aware that I needed to dumb it down with the Cliff Notes version.

I admit that it is rather long. But it seems that rightards can only absorb info by being smacked upside the head with a well-aged 2x4. And that 2x4 is the fact that there is a whole lot that he's done that isn't on Fux Gnus or the Paranoid Show with Glen Beckerhead.

I actually read that whole list and I'm impressed. Even the things I disagree with aren't really huge issues to me.

Cmon. Got his daughter a puppy?

This list is bullshit, hes taking credit for a lot of things that Congress did, that the Forest Service routinely does (such as clearing brush) , etc.

And listing

quote:

Economy, Employment and Labor
1. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA): A $789 billion economic stimulus plan.

as an achievement is laughable. The money was wasted on pork that didnt do anything for the economy in the long run and severely plunged us into debt.

5. $4,000,000,000,000 added to the national debt (inc 2011)
6. (Coming attraction) Losing both houses of Congress

as if the US wasn't in debt in the first place. I am on no paticular side of the fence, but just by reading the forums here alone, it seems that some people will blame him for almost everything going wrong here and if something is presented as positive, "oh, well that was all Congress." Just pointing it out here.

The ones on the right are not ignoring you because they can't understand what you are saying. They are ignoring you because your posts read like a script from a playground fight. Maybe if you dropped the grade school insults and just tried to make a point once in a while, people would pay more attention.

As to your list of accomplishments....I am sure he can claim responsibility for some of them. But it loses points when you start adding things like he "got his daughters a puppy". Then it sounds like you are reaching for anything good to say about the man. It's a shame because he has done a lot of good things.

You mean the Democrat-controlled Congress?

I'm glad to see you approve.

But how did you feel about that whole TARP thing since you disapprove so much of the stimulus package?

First off, it's not my list. See the little thing at the bottom that says "linky-link"? No? Get your eyes checked.

Secondly, I missed the "Got his daughters a dog" item. Maybe you can point it out.

Maybe if you weren't so bizarredly listing far to the right, people would pay attention to you. Hell, I might even consider what you write worth reading. But as far as I can tell, you never contribute anything germane to a discussion.

You mean you don't read the crap you post? Why am I not surprised.

Why would I care if you pay attention to me? If you think I am far right, then you obviously haven't read much of what I have written.

What does mod XI have to do with posting your pic on here? But it doesn't surprise me that you pay more attention to the avitar than the actual words written.

It mentions the puppy, but I didn't see anything about the "no worker left behind" program or anything about allowing unemployed workers to attend school without screwing up their benefits. I think they could have come up with a good list if they had gone for quality and not quantity.

Isnt the "no worker left behind" a Michigan inniative, meaning a state applied one and not the federal level that began in 2007?

When reading the list one gets the feeling that the great Obama is trying to take credit for the sun shining and the birds chirping, much like the propaganda you might hear in a typical communist dictatorship. It sort of hearkens me back to all the "walks on water" jokes that were told about him during the campaign... and the Roman colliseum-type structure that was built for one of his speeches so that he could play the part of a Greek god.

His presidency is more like a Greek tragedy than anything. Judging by his poll numbers hes gonna need more than propaganda this fall, hes gonna need some real results if hes to pull his mess out of the fire. Something other than blaming everything were seeing on Congress (or on Bush) as well.

I don't know what will happen.

But for comparison's sake, Reagan's approval ratings were 10 points lower at this point in his presidency.

The point in the OP, I think, is that, just as you're doing now, the right immediately turns the conversation away from accomplishments to empty rhetoric like yours. Not criticism of what he's done--just changing the subject.

Keep in mind that while Congress' approval ratings are even lower than Obama's, the Republican Party's approval rating is even lower than Congress.

For all the noise, this is just the old sharp partisan divide. People are still voting for the same parties, without movement. And people are still clinging to talking points instead of furthering discussion.
