Apologies to the op for going off tangent. But I don't see any green dots next to anyone's name.

Well I don't see dots, green or any other color. What an odd thread this has become lol.

If being registered there is something you and your master desire, then thats what you should do. To each his own.
As for me, my Master (and i) have no need nor desire to have me 'registered' there. I need no validation from cyberland to know who and what i am.
Hello silksoul,
i am registered there and, with all due respect, it's not for validation from cyberland or so that i know who or what i am.  i find the site's web boards to be very informative with lots of people there who truly live the M/s dynamic.  When Master and i discovered the site, He registered me there and joined Himself.  W/we found W/we truly enjoyed the forums and interacting with the sincere people W/we met there.  Each site's forums are different.  As compared to here, it seems a more intimate setting there, if you will, as there are fewer posters and much, much less flaming.  W/we joined there several months before joining here.  W/we joined here for the opposite effect - many more people to meet and interact with and a larger variety of topics.  W/we enjoy both sites thoroughly and have met several people who actively participate in both.  As for registering me there with a number, that was pretty much the end of it.  Many of the folks there have their numbers engraved on something and wear it or get the number/barcode tattooed on, etc.  W/we have not done that as W/we agree the number itself really offers no validation.  It was just something W/we did as W/we joined the site.......slave luci

And, does that slave also wear their Master's collar? What does it mean to those individuals in terms of their level of commitment, was there any type of ceremony attached to being registered?

Cheers,

Edited because i clicked the wrong button.

Any way, if you are asking about the process of being registered on The Slave Register web site.  It's very simple.  You go to http://www.slaveregister.com/ and click on "Register" and you will be redirected to a new screen with the following message:

Slaves and submissives can register in The Slave Register and display a profile, personal ad, pictures, registration certificate and (after 7 days) post to the web boards. Each registration is assigned a unique 9-digit registration number (and can display an ownership certificate if they are owned.)
If you're not a slave or submissive, or you don't want a registration number or certificate, then you should join with a profile name instead of registering with a number.
Registration and the rest of the site are totally free. When you've filled out this form and submitted it, TSR's system will send you a confirmation email telling you what to do next. The Profiles How To? page explains more about how joining TSR works: if you are a master, mistress or dominant wanting a registration for your slave or submissive, please tell them to register, rather than registering them yourself.

There is no ceremony.  It is free, just like CM.  It has Message Boards.  It allows much more graphic pictures to be posted on your profile page.

i joined TSR the same day i joined CM, because i had just been told about those two sites by a man i was chatting with on Yahoo and i told him that i was looking for a Master to own me.  i registered on both and remain on both, even though i did find a Master on CM.

When i first registered on TSR, i registered under my previous name of freeslave_linda (it was the best i could come up with on the spur of the moment), then i changed it to slave_joy, when my Master took ownership of me and changed my name to joy.  i also changed my status from being a "free slave" to being owned.  On TSR, you are allowed to change your profile name & your status, without losing your id number.  Also, if you don't like the idea of having a registration # assigned to you, you have the option of signing on without getting the number.

For me, it is just another resource for information, for exposing myself online & for searching for like-minded friends, Dommes, or a sister slave.

i really don't know why so many seem to find The Slave Register so objectionable.  If you don't like it, you don't need to join and/or you can unjoin.

Being registered on that site & having a number & certificate on there only mean something, if it means something to you.  Pretty much like having a collar or a ring only mean something, if they mean something to you.

BTW, for anyone who just wants to check it out, you can log on as a "Guest" and not register.  For anyone who's interested, my TSR # is 062-808-443 and my profile is located at http://www.slaveregister.com/p/slave_joy/.

Hope this is helpful to you.

i absolutely agree, slavegirljoy.  Also, i've found those on TSR who find CM really objectionable.  i don't see why one can only like one or the other.  As i said, W/we like things about both sites.

Once again, well said, slavegirljoy.  The number i received meant so little to U/us that W/we don't even know what it is.  i changed from the number to the same name i have here, slaveluci, and just went straight to the forums.  There are those for whom the number means very much.  Just individual tastes..........slaveluci

Gosh, I have to agree with Michael.

I think a nice private dymanic between two people is much nicer instead of shouting it out to the world.  I would find it embarssing if my partner asked me to register and would flately refuse - however, he feels the same as me and I cannot write what he said as it would be too rude LOL.

It just seems a bit too pretentious to me.

i wonder how many people who think it's shouting private things out to the world to utilize TSR think the same thing about public play parties?  My Master and i do not attend public lifestyle events.  We have a wonderful private dynamic and, as far as i know, no one but some very close friends even realize our dynamic.  BTW - how is being signed up on this site any less of a way of "shouting" your dynamic to the world? There are many things i would find embarrassing to do (most of them involving some type of public venue) but signing up for a 9 digit number on a site where our real identities are anonymous is not one of them.  Pretentious and deserving of rude words?  Wow.  There IS some middle ground.  There are those who don't want to join the site and those who do.  Doesn't mean either group is wrong.  As i stated before, W/we are there for the forums.  i sincerely invite you to check them out.  There are some wonderful people there (several of whom are also registered on this site).  And, as slavegirljoy mentioned, you don't HAVE to get a number.  You can just check it out as a guest if you like...........slaveluci

Hi Luci

I was only voicing my own opinion.  I think someone else mentioned about "each to their own" and I do agree with that.  Was just my own opinion.  I dont do public play either but I do love watching public play .

Just like you think the slave registry is great, I dont, I find it strange, that's the whole point of the forums - different opinions and boy do they vary lol - but hey that is what makes the world go around right?

As long as you're happy!!!!!!!!

Thank you shai^tana, sub4hire and SherriA.

For the record, I recently explained a very powerful board function to someone in another thread, and it may actually fit/apply perfectly in this case:

- Click the green dot next to his nick/handle, and his comments will no longer be seen or heard in offense/disrespect... you won't have to endure the continual lost cause resentment and hear how bad and stupid male Dominants are (ludicrous examples of Germans bombing Pearl Harbor, sun setting in the east, boiling points, allegations a stupid male Dominant 'hacked' his profile, etc)... and you will effectively have shut him up, denying him permission to berate/disrespect you, or your Dominant).

Note: Keep an eye open for new members named 'iwilltakeittomygrave'.

- Click the red dot next to his nick/handle ONLY IF the ms redeems himself by appologizing to you outside this board (as you won't be able to see his appologies here if his 'dot' is red).

Hmm... interesting indeed - board level discipline... what a concept!

IMHO:

iwillserveu owes shai^tana AND her Master an appology for his condescending and disrespectful post!

Inyouagain

Hey inyouagain,
Who pissed you in your wheaties?  He asked a valid question that IMHO wasn't disrespectful at all.  If you can't handle the comments and questions of others maybe you should find another sand box to play in. *smiles every so sweetly*

Lol at idiots in this thread. Green button ,red button pmsl. Why not simply use the block button which funny enough is why its there for. So you dont see poeple you dont want to speak too.

Implementing 'buttons' as you say is not exactly a 1 minute job. You have to re-encode the forums which means lengthy down times. Its just not worth it.

As for the slave registy, I think its a load of rubbish but to each their own i guess

Thank you for the link to the site. I showed my Master and then registered as a collared slave. My Master now has a copy of registration on his wall and is very proud of me.

I can understand that this site is not for everyone. For me, it is just another way to show my Master my feelings for him just as in the slave bells I proudly wear around my ankle 24/7.

I also want to thank the others who posted valuable information (especially MichaelJ!). However, as for the others like iwillserveu, I don't think your comments are so necessary that this thread has to be interrupted by your babble. If the lifestyle of shai^tana and her Master are so that permission is required from her Master before posting to this forum, then so be it. Shai^tana's Master should be very proud of her writings as his slave seems to be a very articulate person. Rather then cutting at the rules placed in their lifestyle, you could take the time to work at your own lifestyle instead.

No need to be embarrassed.  i don't know about all the dots and all..lol...but the rest of the discussion was just about TSR as a site.  It's still there and still functions basically as it did then.  The age of the thread really doesn't mean what was discussed still doesn't apply....luci

I found TSR long before I joined these boards. And I absolutely adore almost everyone there. For me, it has nothing to do with a slave number and everything to do with some of the most intelligent and knowledgeable people I have ever met in the lifestyle. I'll admit, not having started my Psych. classes yet, some of the more complex TPE and IE discussions to slip right over my head, but it's amazing to see so many different opinions.

That website definitely changed the way I saw myself. I went there considering myself a submissive. Master was adamantly opposed to the idea of 'slavery' as well. And now I realize, morally and intellectually speaking, just what the term means. And it suits me. Frankly, I have to say thank you to them for showing me a different viewpoint and finally giving me a word that I can idetify myself with.

But that's just my two cents..

Gwen
