Status: offline 		I think this is getting to be mildly repetitive, but.. yeah, all showers of any kind involving something besides fresh, clean water coming out of a showerhead faucet. Just *EW*.    
Diapers. We all wore them at one point, and some of us may have to wear them again someday for necessity's sake; I cannot for the life of me imagine wanting to do it in the interim.
Other than these, I may not like it, but I can at least grasp why others might, each for their own reasons; excepting my own examples, I am more or less fearless and hard to freak out.

I saw this demonstrated at FetishCon last month. There's even a Tampa Tickle Society. To see someone volunteer to get locked into stocks so that someone could tickle them..... disturbing.

I understand that they like it. I don't think it's "out there". But while most of me is accepting and supportive, I cannot silence the little voice in the back of my head screaming "WTF!!!!!"

Status: offline 		I don't have a problem with understanding nearly every fetish but I once watched a documentary where there were these women that fell in love with 'objects'...one of the women fell in love with the Eiffel Tower, had a marriage ceremony and got married to it. Another woman fell in love with a bridge in Germany....she would actually make love with it!
These woman felt alone in the world with their fetishes until the internet brought them together and they realised they were'nt the only ones in the world.

That fetish I find a little hard to understand......I just think they must be very lonely.

There are a lot of fetishes which are not my thang  but I find it simple to choose not to be around it if it makes me uncomfortable and to remind myself that there are probably just as many people that would find some of the things I do really strange.  Each to their own etc

I stated this earlier and I don't think anyone heeded my warning about this thread turning into that. This thread has great potential for both sides of that see saw, in that we can learn why other people like it other than "I just do" or we can simply sit around and go "ew" at what people do like to make them feel ostracized. If we're choosing i'd like the first one in which someone who is into something in particular can possibly shed some light on why someone would like it, I know that is why I don't open up on what it is I enjoy out of fear that i'll be looked at differently.

As someone that has an attraction to "daddy doms" without the age play aspect, I know exactly how much understanding and acceptance I can expect here... which is little

I was talking to my vanilla friend last night about "daddies" and she "got it". This is my personal experience, my vanilla friends tend to have less judgment than "lifestyle" people, mind you, my friends tend to be culturally relativistic by the very nature of what they do for a living, but nonetheless, they have more acceptance for me than what I have seen here. Now if you think you can turn that around based upon a thread on an kink message board, go you! Personally, I doubt very highly that this is going to happen. If you read the most judgmental on this thread, they are usually the ones that have been around here the longest, and have had ample time to understand others based upon what they read here.

Edited to add, I shouldn't say I get "little" understanding, because that is not exactly true, more that I know there will be many people who will never "get it", think I am "creepy", and refuse to try to "understand"... and all the threads in the world are not going to change this, and threads like this are an open invitation to say "Those people are creepy"

I trimmed the quote so it isn't seen as an inconvenience.

We've actually had threads like this one before.  The result was a combination of positive and negative.  In some cases, it was a learning opportunity for folks who wanted to get a better understanding of kinks that were different.  Of course, the counter to that were the folks who just wanted to tell others how disgusting they found other people's kinks to be.  (If anybody else remembers the thread that NZ started that I'm referring to, it might be an interesting read for others if the link could be provided.)

There are kinks that have been mentioned on this thread that some people 'don't get' that I actually enjoy.  One of those is blood play and I'd be happy to attempt to explain what I get out of it or direct them to posts of others in the past that have detailed what it is that makes it an enjoyable kink.  If folks are interested in that learning opportunity, I see that as a benefit, even if it's not something they personally enjoy.

What I won't say is that threads like these shouldn't exist just because not everybody wants to learn from them.  If you limit the potential positives based on the fact that some people will respond negatively, then no learning happens at all.

It has been said about me that I tend to put myself in those sort of predicaments where learning from the negative isn't my favorite thing so I reject it. It is time I learned to curb that attitude, again thanks for that perspective.

Unfortunately some people cannot follow the guidelines when presented with an opportunity to "insult" the kinks and lifestyle preferences of others. It is just my opinion that a thread such as this invites people to disregard the rules here..

Like I said, just me, etc...

And, btw, if this forum had seen as many people that called female dominants "creepy" or suggested that they are "mentally ill", perhaps you would understand... this is not a "kink" to many, it is a relationship style, like you being a dominant is a relationship style. If people insulted dominance and submission (like Bob, for example) the same way daddy/girls are insulted, this would end up a bitchfest 30 pages long....

Just my experience here.
