Especially as what they are doing is not going to be looked on by those people as one little church group making the decision, but, asĀ  Americans attacking the Quarun.

Isn't that what the imbecile's hoping for? His demand that the Kenyan tries to talk him out of it suggests as much, I'd have said.

What have I posted that justifies anyone burning  anything julia? The only point I have made is that we should defend everyones right to demonstrate freely and openly and that the Muslims demonstrating in Pakistan who were burning the American flag really dont have grounds to dictate to us about burning anything.

You are absolutely right.  The people in Pakistan do not have grounds to dictate to us about burning anything.  But...neither do we have any grounds to dictate to them about what they can burn or not burn either.

Just because they have extremests doing such crap does not mean that we need to or should stoop to their level "just to get even".  What should the Koran burners do after the fire is out...turn toward Mecca, stick their thumbs in their ears, wiggle their fingers and go, "Nanner, nanner, nanner!"?  One thing that most parents teach their kids at a very young age is that two wrongs does not make a right.

So all your shouting and heavy breathing is over something I didnt say...

Thats really kind of crazy.

Tell me why youre assigning it my place to judge whats right and whats wrong, julia. I had no idea you held me in such high esteem...

On one hand. the Koran is paper, and its ink, and there are enough of them in circulation that a few of them will never be missed. Something I have to ask is, what point is the preacher in Florida trying to make? Does he have a point? I dont know, and I doubt that its mine to say, as you insist that it is.

What I do know is that its amazing that such a small group of people can cause so much fuss so easily, over a mere book.

Edit to add, Heres the kind of thing that pisses me off, and I'll say without reservation that it was wrong:

And I dont recall there having been this much outrage over it either.

I reviewed all your posts on this thread. Not once have you said burning a Koran is wrong. Not once have you said it shouldn't be done, even though they may legally have the right...

I said repeatedly that they have the right, but that doesn't make it right.

Why is it so hard for you to acknowledge that this is wrong, and it shows that there are a few whackos in every country willing to do extreme shit to make a point? The more you post about what "they" do, the more it sounds as though you are justifying burning holy books. It doesn't

I made that very point in post 169
