Status: offline 		As a definite side note and apology in hopes not to derail anything, Lucy, I'm loving the new avi's you've been putting up lately.  

The thing that stands out to me the most about this whole she-bang though is....how come not wanting or liking to send billions of dollars we didn't have to the troops when they needed them, to keep them safe and armed got you labelled as unpatriotic...and the tantrum of a church pastor, putting the lives of our soldiers in harm's way not considered the same???  Why can't people see that parallel. 

I guess its ok to choose when to be "patriotic"...and when not.

Status: offline 		Next week they'll be burning the bible and it isn't even the day after tomorrow yet so we don't have to keep warm.

What is funny is they've already started burning the US flags, they must have a stockpile somewhere you'd think they would have run out of US flags by now. [Pre-emptive flag burning].

I don't care about this book or other religious books being burnt, my feeling is he is getting the publicity he wanted in the first place just as the terrorists are. They should stop reporting people doing stupid things, one week a woman puts a cat in the bin and the next week they are burning books again? Whatever next? Is there any real news anymore, like flooding victims an such and such?

The flooding victims are Pakistanis, though: they're Muslims, so they must deserve it. Who gives a shit?

I would like the post narrative to read something like this:


"Americans stand against,protest and stop burning of holy book"

or

"American`s outrage ends church`s bid to burn Koran."

or

"Pastor reconsiders after learning of direct danger to troops in field."

Just like the "pastor" is aware that he`s putting our soldiers lives in further danger,you are also aware that you don`t "risk the retaliation" of his stupidity.

Our GI`s have been asked to do enough without having to deal with this shit too.

This is the equivalent of screaming fire in a crowded theater.

Not an expression of freedom but rather a deliberate act done to cause damage and injury.

This makes NO sense to me.  At what point have we decreed these groups to be the decider of ethics?  And would if have to be President Obama?  OR would VP Biden do?  What about one of his local congress-people?  A local National Guard Armory?  Military Recruiting Center?  Instead of the State Department what about one from the Consul of Zimbabwe? 


As far as the comparison to flag-burning goes, as I recall from my lessons in the care and feeding of the US Flag, you are SUPPOSED to burn it.
