Well see how it compares, Im betting hardly anyone will have the time or money to go because nobody really cares enough to actually make the sacrifices needed to go that far to see a comedy show, and excuses are cheap.

Haha soo funny.. it has a message that not even YOU can find an excuse to attack, so I guess instead you're willing to settle for mocking it as something nobody will go to.  Well, I, many of my friends here, and several people I know are planning to attend, and its facebook page has 76,000 people who plan to attend. And that's just the people on facebook that know about the page.  Even if we take a quarter of that, it's still encouraging!

So yeah, I can't wait!

I'm going on a business trip the next day...the only way I can go is by seeing if I can do a multi-city trip, paying for the extra leg.

Right.  I'm an essential member of the team making the trip.  I can't miss it; traveling on Sunday is a risk that the flight may be cancelled, etc.  Do you expect my employer to go "Oh yeah, don't worry about it"?  Don't know what you're smoking, but pass it over here.

One reason the Tea Party turnout was good is that a majority of them are retired!

BTW, were you there for any of the Beck rallies in DC?

Mistletoe -> RE: Stewart, Colbert to hold rallies in Washington D.C. (9/18/2010 10:11:56 PM)

These two are typical Hollywood liberals backed by the left-wing media, ultimately out to bash the Tea Party and the New Right to the advantage of the Obamamaniacs, the Democrats, and the Social-progressive agenda. But it's their privilege. At the end of the day I will still be a Conservative, Sarah Silverman will still be a sleazy left-wing@#$%roach blackmailing her grandparents into voting the way 'she' wants, and Obama will still be a Marxist. Colbert and Stewart will be preaching to the choir, and the line between left and right will not move a nanometer. But it should provide a few hours of content for Comedy central.

Sanity -> RE: Stewart, Colbert to hold rallies in Washington D.C. (9/18/2010 10:13:24 PM)

I really cant stand much of Becks ranting, but Ill bet hes a bigger draw than the Comedy Show because the Left is so demoralized right now and the right is pumped up beyond belief.

I don't think it is elitist to say that the majority of teabagger signs I have seen consist of poor grammar and misspellings, and I'll even refrain from commenting on their content.

I don't think it is elitist to say that the majority of interviews of teabaggers I have seen consisted of people who cannot even articulate why they are at a tea party rally.

Wow.

Yet another logical, rational conservative voice.

Hollywood liberals, even though both are from New York and that is where their shows are broadcast from.

I'm almost afraid to ask what Sarah Silverman has to do with the topic and I'm definitely afraid to ask what your blackmailing the grandparents rant is about.

But keep up the good work.

You're doing yourself proud.

Mistletoe -> RE: Stewart, Colbert to hold rallies in Washington D.C. (9/18/2010 11:31:59 PM)

Their shows may be broadcast from New York however their noses are till brown from being stuck up the asses of the big money coming out of Hollyweird that supports the left wing agenda.

I as a rule do not get involved in these political threads. It is a waste of time generally. I will say that I am proud not to be a liberal that supported Obama and leave it at that.

You've done a great job of missing the point.  First of all, if you think an effort to "Restore Sanity" is the same as bashing the Tea Party, then you are insulting them more than Jon Stewart is.  That Sarah Silverman comment came out of left field. Irrelevant.  You just felt like bashing liberals, I understand.  The rally isn't about shifting the political lines, it's about constructive dialog between the sides.  Did you watch the announcement? Of course not, so you probably didn't see one of the examples of the political craziness he was mocking was the signs depicting Bush as Hitler.

Now one could argue that a return to sane dialog might aid the democrats, as the GOP seems to be using scare tactics to manipulate people through their fears.

FR
compare? is that all it boils down to you? bloody hysterical, out come the excuses already
just in case its not as big as becks, or if it is, its because hollyweird paid for it
fuck too funny
this is not a chest thumping dick waving competition, now heres some tweezers, time to put that little thing away

fast reply

I think that it is terribly ironic that a Million Moderate March was designed to stop fear, and it seemingly is generating it amongst the right wing extremists on this board... very very ironic indeed.

I guess this says something about the fear and loathing the Right wants to instill that they are sooooo threatened by two comedians from Comedy Central they need to mock them for being comedians.

Sanity -> RE: Stewart, Colbert to hold rallies in Washington D.C. (9/19/2010 7:37:49 AM)

Id like to see the looks on the faces of the hundred far left loons who do show up when they get bitch slapped with the reality that these comedians kick the far left in the groin almost as much as they do the right

I have no doubt that people will show up, although Al Sharpton's little shindig was quite an embarassment for him compared to the tea party turnout, but my question is this. What are these people going to protest for??? What do they want???

More Income taxes?
More backdoor taxes that are passed on to the consumer?
More government bailouts?
More government jobs at the expense of the taxpayer?
More Illegal aliens undercutting Legal citizens?
Easier credit which caused the mortgage collapse?
More Unconstitutional legislation such as the patriot act and health care?
More covert attempts to disarm law abiding Americans?
More federal judges blocking the will of the people when it's not even in their jurisdiction?

My guess is that they will be protesting for more welfare, and free health care, and that's all. These people are more gullible than the hippies were back in the 1960's. Sorry, but there is no paradise on earth, where everything is free, other people pay for stuff for you that isn't free, and you never have to work a day in your life. Just take your Illegal drugs, and party like it's still 1999.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Stewart, Colbert to hold rallies in Washington D.C. (9/19/2010 7:58:32 AM)

Oh, and the bottom line is this, and all the experts agree on it including Chris Matthews from Hardball. Americans vote on the economy. If the economy is doing great, then they vote to keep the same people and party in power. If the economy happens to sour right before an election then they blame the party in charge and vote for the other party. So it's over for the democrats. They don't have the balls to cancel NAFTA over a 10 year period or enforce our Immigration laws.

Bottom line is this. Obama has done nothing to restore our economy other than get us deeper into debt. In fact, the reason he suddenbly became popular during the primaries is because McCain was telling people in Michigan and Ohio, "those manufacturing jobs are gone forever," get over it, while Obama was telling people we should at least renegotiate NAFTA. Obama also hasn't done anything about illegal aliens undercutting our economy. Remember, the black unemployment rate is at 16%, and he could care less whether an Illegal alien has taken an American's job.

Obamas in the news this morning too, pleading with black people to "keep the change".

He says "Republicans want to turn the clock back" and I'm thinking, to what.

5% unemployment?
