I have no doubt that people will show up, although Al Sharpton's little shindig was quite an embarassment for him compared to the tea party turnout, but my question is this. What are these people going to protest for??? What do they want???

More Income taxes?
More backdoor taxes that are passed on to the consumer?
More government bailouts?
More government jobs at the expense of the taxpayer?
More Illegal aliens undercutting Legal citizens?
Easier credit which caused the mortgage collapse?
More Unconstitutional legislation such as the patriot act and health care?
More covert attempts to disarm law abiding Americans?
More federal judges blocking the will of the people when it's not even in their jurisdiction?

My guess is that they will be protesting for more welfare, and free health care, and that's all. These people are more gullible than the hippies were back in the 1960's. Sorry, but there is no paradise on earth, where everything is free, other people pay for stuff for you that isn't free, and you never have to work a day in your life. Just take your Illegal drugs, and party like it's still 1999.

Wow.. this is realllly simple.. they're protesting for better, more constructive dialog about our issues! This is not about political talking points! It's about taking the focus off the fringe! And I challenge anyone to watch is announcement of the rally and tell me that he's not being completely bi-partisan in his efforts!

If you noticed that on this thread, it is the "fringe" that are afraid of Moderate Marches....

Here is the thing, taking on a comedian is never a good idea, they will only make more fun of you for doing so...[:D]

I really cant stand much of Becks ranting, but Ill bet hes a bigger draw than the Comedy Show because the Left is so demoralized right now and the right is pumped up beyond belief.

Right.  I'm an essential member of the team making the trip.  I can't miss it; traveling on Sunday is a risk that the flight may be cancelled, etc.  Do you expect my employer to go "Oh yeah, don't worry about it"?  Don't know what you're smoking, but pass it over here.

One reason the Tea Party turnout was good is that a majority of them are retired!

BTW, were you there for any of the Beck rallies in DC?

Yup.  Sooooo demoralized.  I'm wearing sackcloth and ashes right now.

No, wait a minute.  The sackcloth's in the washer and the ashes would mess up the couch.  I'll wear them tomorrow!  Really! [:D]

The Tea Party's cranked up, the GOP's nervous.

That video was hilarious. Too bad it isn't in N.Y., I'd love to go but D.C. is a little too far for Halloween weekend.

Beck is concerned they(colbert and stewart) are going to "activate the youth vote", like its calling down the apolocolypse.
What a maroon

Since Stewart said he hasnt bothered getting a permit, don't make plans prematurely.

Did you watch him with O'Reilly???
I thought it was hysterical

In a previous clip he said that he had gotten the permit. I'm interested to find out which was the truth and which was a punch line.

Is there some reason to make you think that it will not be issued?

Nope. I do have my doubts about how many people will actually show up though.

Probably 87,000.

Or 500,000.

Or 1.6 million.

It's anybody's guess at this point.

Actually, it will be anybody's guess afterward as well.

Just ask Beck.

The NPS estimate is 300-325 k and is substantiated by comparison to other events. If Stewart gets 50k I'll be shocked.

Speaking of substantiation, I am noticing the usual lack of it.

Not to worry Willbeur, your word is good enough for me.

Do you dispute thats what the NPS said?

Can you prove that's what the NPS said?

It doesn't matter whether I dispute it or not, if you are going to post numbers and sources then cite them.

Otherwise I'm just going to assume it is your usual bullshit.

Assume whatever you like. Youve got fingers, after youve licked them clean after extracting them from your posterior, use them for something productive.

I didn't think the NPS did crowd estimates any more. Do you have a link?

ETA: "Crowd estimates used to be provided by the National Park Service, but the agency stopped counting crowds in 1997 after being accused of underestimating the size of the Million Man March in 1995."
