~ Fast Reply ~ I've always tended to call a partner by a "pet name" or term of endearment. Birth-names seem too formal for me, when in an intimate relationship. That said, I have, in a past relationship, called the man "Master." He wanted it, and it came naturally. In my current relationship, he is Daddy. It signifies a whole bunch of stuff for us - dearness, authority, nurturer, protector, loving-hand, and ruler. When in the company of others, such as his daughter, I call him "Mr. Man," "El Senor," or the Spanish version of his birth-name. Or Dear, or Darling, or Love. Sometimes I call him Master; sometimes it just comes out - usually when he's dropping the gauntlet on something. Mostly, though, it's Daddy.
