I don't get Snape.
He's not... amusing.
I want to be domly-like but funny.

Can you please provide a TV-version role-model of a dom who is: not handsome, somewhat charming and quite funny.

Jerry Springer? Are you kidding? I'd have that little bitch crawling at my feet in no time! He is such a little subbie,
any Domme worth her salt would have him crawling and begging in minutes!

Snape isn't Amusing, he is NASTY ! But at least he redeems himself later, unless you haven't read the last book, then forget what I just said.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who thought Snape was strangely hot.

Gordon Ramsay is a bully, not a Dom.... Let's not give "twue" Doms a bad name.

YIKES!  Just went to google spelling, and...... one of his "Kitchen Nightmare" victims/subjects committed suicide 17th Sept, 2010.  Business was bad, even after Ramsay helped, but who's to know for sure?  Oh, and not to put too fine a point on it, another KN person committed suicide.  You can google the results yourself.

BUT THIS WHOLE POST IS A THREAD_JACK!  Bad, Lance!  BAD!

Really? REALLY? But he's not even remotely charming.

Well, I'm clearly never gonna live up to that fantasy.

Yes, I see your point. As it said in the last book, al he has gone through, over the years to protect Harry, is a kind of idiot at times. Always doing things people tell him not to do, like using Lordy's name, when Hermoine and Ron tell him not to.

Waiting for the last movie in 2 parts, sub BalletBob

How 'bout Phil Silvers - as the lead in "You'll Never Get Rich."  (TV - 1955-59)

The name of the show is the start of a song title, which in full, is: "You'll Never Get Rich In The Army."

SIDEBAR: Lance was taught the words to this song early in his life, because his Dad served in both WWII and the Korean "Conflict."

Sgt. Bilko (Silvers' character) always got his men to do what he told them to.  From Wikipedia - about the plot of the show:

The sergeant's attitude toward his men has been described thus: "They were his men and if anyone was going to take them, it was going to be him and only him."

Sounds pretty damn Domly to me.  The "take them" refers to scams, so I caution you thusly:  Careful, Sgt.Bilko has some characteristics you do NOT want to emulate.  However, that's what role models are for.  YOU must pick-n-choose, not make a carbon-copy!!!

The "military model" worked/works well for the "Old Guard" Leathermen.... supposedly that  was the "blossoming" of the modern era - WWII got 'em together and "Once they've seen Gay Paree, they'll never go back to the farm."

You might check-out other military comedies for ideas.  Over-blown comedy - NO, but something with a drier sense of humor.

When I teach BDSM-101, I start with a definition. "There's many ways, using many words, but I especially like the defition of  BDSM as serious fun."  Yep.  We'd best be serious about the weird-ass WIITWD, but if nobody is having fun, why bother?

Yeah... chalk this up as another time where I can't tell if people are joking. Y'all  need to watch Bob Roberts. Or Die Hard. Or something.

There is beauty to be found in ambiguity.
Simple black/white contrasts get dull, which is why you'd want to muddle through gray areas.

For the TV comedy Dom/me how 'bout Bea Arthur as Dorothy Zbornak in "The Golden Girls"  - I always thought she was kinda butch, so she might be what Twoshoes is looking for. Her Mom?........ maybe, but sort of a part-time Dom/me.

Bea Arthur handsome?  Some think so.  LOL!   Certainly the "These are MY girls...." attitude. Want to be an owner? Act like one.
