I've lived with one person (still am) in a mildly D/s vanilla relationship for nearly 22 years. During that time I've had two solidly D/s relationships, one that lived with me off and on and the other, we never made it to that point. Since then, I've come to realize more solidly what I want and no one has made it past a few prolonged visits.

For those willing to answer, i appreciate Y/your respones. Quite a few of Y/you on this site profess to be or have eluded to be in a current D/s and/or M/s relationship with another on this site. How many of Y/you live together or spend more than the occasional weekend together.

I've lived in the same household with one or more members of our poly/authority-based household for the past 13 years -- it's varied between just two of us and as many as 12 full-time members in-house, and up to 30 temporary visitors at any given time. Our household is a little different, though, in that the core of the House is actually made up of 9 smaller households -- however, all of those households have at least two members living together full-time, and about 30% of those households are what would be considered to be "full-time" authority-based (Ms/Ds-or what we call Keeper/servant.) households. A few of us are either -on- CM now, or have been on in the past, including my current Companion.

Seems you've received quite a few responses so far.

Firm and I met here in the forums almost five years ago.  We moved in together about two and a half years ago, and married a year ago.

I'd say we spend more than an occasional weekend together.

i have known Him since 2003 and moved into His home on a casual basis this past April. He claimed me as His on Christmas Day. What the future holds for Him and i, i don't know, but hopefully our relationship will continue to blossom and grow.

to the op:

I'm offended by your question and the presupposition that underpins it. Wisdom is more than one's current living situation.

And, no, I'm not currently involved. Does that make me a dullard and unworthy of being listened to, my words suitable only for a trash heap? If that is your assessment of my point of view, merely because I am not coupled at the moment, so be it.

I don't need you to tell me I am worthy.

good luck.

Sunshine,

You know, call me naive, but I didn't take it that way at all. I read the question as one of "is it really possible to meet someone on one of these places and actually get to -be- with that person?"

Don't know if the OP is still around, but maybe xhe'd be willing to clarify.

Calla

The question is an attempt to gauge the relevance of responses to other posts. Sometimes the current situation of the person responding is a direct reflection on what they post. For this very reason, i do not expect many to answer this post.

Hi Calla,

The above is what the OP said in post number 3. It sure seems offensive to me. I know the OP also said that it wasn't an attempt to be hostile. I didn't think it was hostile. I thought it was offensive. Some people are relevant based on their current situation. Other people are not based on their current situation. History, knowledge, focus, lessons learned, self-reflection, wisdom, experience evidently have no weight for the OP according to the posts. I think that is offensive and not a little foolish.

I can appreciate that your interpretation was different. I just don't see it that way.

best,
sunshine

Sunshine, I thought it was more that the op was trying to find others in her situation. So if she's in a ldr, she wouldn't find those who live together to understand and be able to offer advice suitable for a ldr. And vice versa. Of course she was being short sighted by not realizing that we all started from a first date, and damn few of us happened to meet a person who lived in the same apartment building or even down the block. That no matter where we are now, most of us have had similar experiences to everyone else here relationshipwise, in the past.

But I wouldn't characterize her reason as offensive so much as short sighted.

I totally agree with you, Sunny. I find it short sighted that people think if you are not currently involved, your entire life's experience becomes invalid.

What a small box some people live in to feel that only someone else in their exact life situation at this moment in time can give advice

Meh.
Well I wouldn't rely on the advice of someone who had never been married on marriage, just as I would listen more to the advice of a doctor than a mechanic if I wanted advice on brain surgery.
So I better get to specsavers.

Married, and live together. We have been for a long, long time. Not all of that time has been spent in wiitwd.
I can see the point of looking for people in your own situation for advice. I don't see a point in looking ONLY for people in your own situation for advice.
With all respect to RCdc, this ain't brain surgery. We've all had relationships of one kind or another, and can at least serve as bad examples if nothing else.

Pfft... marriage can be as painful and more complex than brain surgery if what you sometimes read is what is to be believed....
