After using this avatar for a couple of months, I noticed someone else using it as well...and it *is* kind of confusing. But I figured we must have something in common if we both chose it, so I wrote to him to say hello and now we are friends. However, he saw the picture from the point of view of the person on the floor, and as for me....I am the foot.

Of course, if he was really a good sub, he would give me the avatar :)

ROFL...Same here. One I could sort of shrug off, but 2? I needed to be unique. Never did much like conformity. LOL

As a courtesy to You, MH, i have chosen this avatar. It's not my wish to do "battle" over anything as ridiculous as a pic on here. LOL

Please chalk it up under "taking life too seriously" and feel comfortable that you have the same rights as anyone else who accessed a public file put there for that very purpose.

Please PLease use the avatar I am using today, which is the peace sign (may change it tomorrow if I get a buggaboo to). I want everyone to give peace a chance...(does a flower child dance around the forum).

Well, OK, but I'd be annoyed if someone else started using my avatar of two elephants fucking.

yes, that would be odd.

we get used to seeing and connecting a picture with a person, so when the picture changes or else is used by others, it is confusing. kind of like this post. i thought of changing my avatar when two others began using it, but i found the change even more confusing than seeing the picture when it wasn't me. whatcha gonna do? i know, go shopping!

now, when i find out who is using my profile photograph, that's a whole 'nother story. 5" stiletto heels placed just so can really bother a body i've heard.

Wulfchyld has made me an astounding avatar. He advises me to ask a Mod to upload it. Where do I find a Mod?

I thought you couldn't upload a personal avatar unless it's a photo of yourself...is this not the case?

Edited due to my itchy trigger finger.

I'm pretty sure that's not true.  You can't upload a personal PICTURE in your profile unless it's a photo of yourself.  But I'm pretty sure you can have an AVATAR of anything--or could have, rather, since I don't think CM is approving new avatars.

Maybe a mod can weigh in here?

From this post in the Administrative Announcements forum:

"Out of necessity we have removed some user posted avatars and are forced to restrict the addition of new ones due the inability to moderate the content of the avatars before they are posted."

::steps forward:: I volunteer to moderate the content of avatars. Does it matter if I have very low standards?

Geez!

I am sure that they are not the first to have used the AVATAR nor will you be the last to use it.

Enjoy the message boards and ignore the idiots!

Hi,

I looked for an avatar that fits me and ultimately I decided on this one.

Today I got this message:

"Just a quick note - i had been using the Avatar that You chose, on the message boards. Then one day You have it. i know there aren't any rules, but would You mind choosing a different Avatar since i had this one first? Thank You "

What should I do? I chose this avatar very carefully without the intention of stealing it from another person. It will be difficult to find another avatar. Also that person already uses another beautiful avatar. If it was possible for me to appropriate her avatar, then why does she not simply appropriate it back? Is it possible to appropriate the avatar of someone else? And if I do choose another avatar who is to say that I will not next get a complaint from someone else that I then appropriated his or her avatar?

Keep the avatar.........who are they to tell you that "they had it first, so it's mine" just like a little kid to whine.   It is an avatar for goodness sake..........Don't even worry about it.......I happen to like the one you chose
