I noticed collarme is looking for suggestions. A few thoughts of my own...

1. Give us users the ability to create and maintain our own chat groups, like on fetlife.

2. Give us more options for our profile orientations. Dominant, submissive, slave and switch just doesn't seem to be enough.

3. It would be cool to have more formatting control of our profiles.

4. Try to get rid of the spam and troll accounts.

Just off the top of my head...I'm sure I can think of more.

It is nice to see someone taking the initiative to make open comments on CM. Change is good and very good for you :)

Yea, that's what coca cola said when they changed to new coke. Got news for you. All change is not good. You have to think long and hard before making a change and consider all the possibilities. Then if you do make a change, be prepared to go back to the latest successful version or the original. This works in politics too. hint hint

For example, Bush's "no child left behind," apparently didn't work. So what do they want to do now, that's right, spend more money. Geeeze

They've also initiated controls on spam mail.  Potential spam messages are clearly noted in BIG RED LETTERS at the top and, from complaints seen here on the boards, the filters seem to be catching the spammers pretty well.

I hate fetlife... my suggestion would be to go no where near being like fetlife! We have chat rooms here, we have profiles that are far easier to use than fetlife and we can start a thread that goes on for years, with people chatting away on whatever topic they created. All without black pages and having to join a sect or searching all over hell to find them. I love the search here, everything and everyone is easy to find!

I love the new mail features! Thank you CM! The email features here are far superior to anywhere, any networking site or chat/board site I have been to!

Please don't change too much!

I also hate fetlife, hundreds of groups and no way to figure out which are geared toward you. And the white print on black just sucks visually.

I agree with Des,

That white on black on FL is way hard to read.

I also don't like FL's requirement that you have to sign up to read the groups. CM is doing a big public service letting anyone, lurkers included, read the forum posts-- without having to become a member.

Friend speaks my mind.
Seriously, the last thing I want is for CM to become like Fet, where everything is so compartmentalized that you have to follow your friends around to find anything. I like CM's straightforward layout and forum search much better.

As Ron noted, CM does have user created chats. I would not want to see user created/ controlled forums here.

not sure if I can totally agree with you there, lockit. I've been to Fetlife too and they seem to be the place to be lately. Not saying Collarme isn't great, but it could use some new threads. If cm can just cut down on the spam and stupid people, that alone would be a huge improvement.

WHo determines who is "stupid', though?  Wait.. I guess the ones that cannot figure out the spammers on their own might be considered stupid...

Oh I use stupid people as a catch-all for time wasters, lame online role players, trolls, fake profiles, and one-liner types. Don't mind me!

You skipped the part of my post that referred to compartmentalization.
I have about zero desire to scroll though a bazillion little fiefdoms, where the forum 'owner' can pick and choose who may or may not participate in their 'group'. If you make a group called 'Subs Only' and ban others from participating, you are limiting the input on every thread to one orientation.

I prefer a more open forum where anyone, regardless of orientation or situation, can voice their opinion on a topic as long as they don't violate the site's TOS.

And whos to say that a time waster for you isnt the perfect mate for myself? Its simple ...talk to the people who are compatible to you, block/delete/ignore those who arent.

Personally I would love to see cm get rid of anyone who bitches about fakes time wasters and the likes....

Maybe not every one, as some folks are just new and frustrated, but there are a few repeat offenders I can think of...
