I guess that theory is exposed for a crock of shit.

Poor white working class males are in a tough situation. Vote Democrat, and your needs get ignored, vote Republican, and your needs get ignored. Fail to vote, and your needs get ignored. What are they supposed to do? If 'their' party doesn't come up with the goods, are they supposed to just carry on hitting the same button?

I saw this article earlier in the day and it looked familiar. I'm not sure why this story is being recycled but it first ran three weeks ago. And three-week old poll numbers are ancient history in the middle of a campaign. From the link: The AP-GfK Poll was conducted Sept. 8-13 by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Corporate Communications and involved landline and cell phone interviews with 1,000 randomly chosen adults.

Blacks have always been voting for democrats since they could vote and their needs have also been ignored.

Sorry! OP said working-class whites, but if you examine the disparities btw the voting of white women and white men, you will notice a marked difference. My apologies to the OP for misreading the original post.
