On some forums I once moderated on, you could put in a list of unacceptable words and the system would swap it
out for another more random word. It was quite humorous the way one or two changed words could throw a whole post.

Imagine "Im a Financial domme. You piggies will pay me money to prove your worthy of my time and attentions."
changes to "Im a silly domme. You popcorn will fry me apples to prove you're worthy of my time and attentions."

How about a webmaster verification system?

Charge a small, optional one-time $3-$5 fee to members and let them verify themselves to the webmaster/moderators privately, either via cam or holding up a sign or whatever, the webmaster puts a little 'verified' icon on their profile, and everybody wins. I'd do it.

I wouldn't.  I don't feel the need to "prove" who I am.  I've met more than a hundred people from this site who can say that they've seen Me in the flesh.  If that's not good enough, I'll just have to be fake to you.

As for the financial dommes, they don't make Me look bad.  They actually make Me look pretty good.  A lot of them may be younger than Me, but I'm fairly confident in My topping skills.

This is the internet, everyone is suspect. Although obviously established people wouldn't need go in for it, that's why it would be an optional thing.

But for new members, male and female, it might be a good way to flag yourself and say hey, I'm really the one in the pictures. It would also help to weed out all the 'girls' who put up random internet pics and then try to scam $20 from sub guys who want to talk to them.

I dunno... I've seen it on a few sites already and it seems like a good idea.

myotherself -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 1:19:37 AM)

I think I prefer to believe that the site admins consider me to be all growed-up and smart, and able to spot a scammer when it's thrust in front of my face with the word 'scammer' tattooed on its butt.

There is a message on the top of the message page (as the lovely VAA pointed out) that tells you not to send money to anyone, for any reason. I don't see how this can be misinterpreted in any way. Follow the rules, and you won't get scammed. Simple!

Money scammers aren't going to waste months of their time in prolonged contact before asking for money. Let the big brain do the thinking, don't rush into anything with someone you've only just met and haven't met in person, and your cash will be safe.

Let your little brain do the thinking and...well...you should reconsider whether you're growed-up enough to be on the interwebz without a nanny.

I'm sorry, but no. I worked out the yesterday that I've had profiles on and off on this site for four years now, and during that time I've had a sum total of two messages accusing me of being a man, and too many messages saying 'I'm relieved to find such a genuine-sounding profile' (from people I'm pretty damned sure are genuine themselves) to count.

I've never felt that others have considered me suspect, and there are plenty of profiles I don't consider suspect at all. If you (generic) need a verified sticker to reassure people that you are who you say you are then you're doing something wrong.

Kynetic -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 6:55:00 AM)

LOL Well said Bravado!

To be honest thishereboi I wouldn't have ended my original post like that if I wasn't interested in hearing other peoples opinions, whether the agreed with me or not. This is a forum and people not sharing the same point of view as me is part and parcel of any discussion on here. I happen to love intelligent debate and relish it anywhere I can find it.

@VaguelyCurious. Indeed, maybe you're right and I'm reading to much into peoples replies and mistaking anger for irritation. I guess it's not as easy to judge peoples reactions when you have only the written text rather than see the reaction with which they typed it.

@Lizi. Oh don't worry Lizi, I fully intend to stick around! :) I'm having a great time reading all the replies I'm getting!

I would SO dig this! Imagine the fun that could be had!!![:D]

I think we need to take this over to that suggestion thread! Imagine how cool it would be in the Politics and Religion!!!! All those know it all blow hards getting their argumentative posts tweaked into silliness.[:D]

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 7:47:18 AM)

LOL! I tried this on my chat program . Unfortunately it didn't work out so good because the problem with that is some unintended words have the censored words 'within' them. You can censor words, but it usually ends up messing up other unintended words too. On a cite like this, I doubt they can censor just particular boards, so you'd get some really weird word replacements throughout all the threads - which I have to be honest, I'd find VERY amusing and would love to see!

LaTigresse -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 7:55:30 AM)

That is what I was thinking also! Might liven things up around here a bit.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 7:57:17 AM)

In answer to the OP...

I love this Community! It is a place where you can move in ,and immediately start evicting (blocking) your unwanted neighbors. You have to admit, that rocks.

Of course this would not apply to me and you...our astute responses and commentary will be studied for years to come.

WinnieD,

I just checked-you still can't say the word 'snigger' in a CMail-the content filter rejects it...

I am a dominant woman who is on this site and there is no way that lil scammer wenches make me look bad. (I can do that all on my own with no assistance from anyone! [:-])

. . . Why would that be our problem?

Smiling at the punch line, reminds me of a MASH episode.

Hawkeye, "We did that to make you look like a fool"
Burns, "Well I don't need your help"

If you truly are bona fide and expect or believe that CM is a legit social networking and dating sight, guess what. When the majority of a society is a farce and the minority does not care, people do not have any faith in it.

It is not a problem unless you are sincere and foolish enough to think that by associating with a 100% farce like CM you will still shine through and be believed. Reading your profile, despite being a bit above the median par, your association with CM would raise a red flag to me. Luckily neither one us is what any one wants to meet so we are both safe. But think about this. Do you think the man slave of your dreams, that knight in armor with a certain Je ne sais quoi, any one who is successful and well rounded is going to be on a fuctard sight like this? NO! At best you might find some pathetic fat olde fart like me. If the field is fool of 10,000 ducks and you tell me there is ONE golden egg laying goose, I will not care to find it. Instead I will grab my gun and have duck for dinner.

Mmhmm, I know. I'd heard that the CMail content filter was set up to censor out any possible creative form of known racial slurs. I don't remember who I was talking to on the phone about it, but I remember I wasn't at all surprised. Considering some of the unsolicited hate mail I've received in the past.

So you'll question the 'bad' but not the 'girl'? [8D]

And for YOU cuteness...... at age 48, if ANYone wishes to call me a girl, I will be certain to try and see it as a compliment rather than a slam! That's my story and I am sticking to it!![:D]

I think that might be American English rather than universal English-it's not a word I'd automatically use, whereas I've been caught out by 'snigger' a few times...

I have to admit.  I really don't worry about the "girls" who post pics.  Not My area.

What I can tell you is that, in five days time, I'll be sitting at a munch table.  At least six other people from this site have talked with Me about their plans to be there and the event that follows.  Since I'm the one organizing that event (it's an auction) I'll probably write a Positive Experiences thread about it.  I do a good enough job of this on My own.  I don't need the site to do it for Me.
