This is the internet, everyone is suspect. Although obviously established people wouldn't need go in for it, that's why it would be an optional thing.

But for new members, male and female, it might be a good way to flag yourself and say hey, I'm really the one in the pictures. It would also help to weed out all the 'girls' who put up random internet pics and then try to scam $20 from sub guys who want to talk to them.

I dunno... I've seen it on a few sites already and it seems like a good idea.

I have to admit.  I really don't worry about the "girls" who post pics.  Not My area.

What I can tell you is that, in five days time, I'll be sitting at a munch table.  At least six other people from this site have talked with Me about their plans to be there and the event that follows.  Since I'm the one organizing that event (it's an auction) I'll probably write a Positive Experiences thread about it.  I do a good enough job of this on My own.  I don't need the site to do it for Me.

The outfit I'm wearing in my avatar pic (what you can see of it) I wore at a Detroit's Wicked Party, where I met Lady Habiscus, and saw quite a few people from this site and fetlife - although I didn't get a chance or the nerve to introduce myself to them (would you believe I'm very shy?). I feel proud to think I am doing almost as good a job as Lady Pact, to validate my reality [:D]

Still, I'm certain that my pic would never be mistaken for a models stolen pic off the internet! Lady Pact on the other had, with all your gorgeous sexiness, your "realness" could be held in question....just saying (and just teasing - hope that doesn't offend!)

FR

This isn't an issue for the English-someone really needs to set up a US version of informedconsent, where you are expected to display a network of people you've met IRL if you want to be taken seriously.

It also acts as a directory for all UK munches and events-I have no idea how you guys keep track without it.

On some forums I once moderated on, you could put in a list of unacceptable words and the system would swap it
out for another more random word. It was quite humorous the way one or two changed words could throw a whole post.

Imagine "Im a Financial domme. You piggies will pay me money to prove your worthy of my time and attentions."
changes to "Im a silly domme. You popcorn will fry me apples to prove you're worthy of my time and attentions."

I would SO dig this! Imagine the fun that could be had!!![:D]

I think we need to take this over to that suggestion thread! Imagine how cool it would be in the Politics and Religion!!!! All those know it all blow hards getting their argumentative posts tweaked into silliness.[:D]

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif] Poise, I have a question, does that program change the words up so is a different substituted word every time???? (Just think, no more pulled posts? Would the whole forum degenerate though whenever the word pay was used in anything? Oh the possibilities!!!!)))

LadyPact -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 10:08:46 AM)

Win, I'm not offended.  I thought it was sweet.

However, you have to make a deal with Me.  If we are ever going to the same event, you are not allowed to be too shy to introduce yourself.  I don't want to be robbed of the opportunity to say hello.

poise -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 10:16:50 AM)

The forum in question allowed you to list words you wanted to censor and choose a substitute for each word.
Until you went in and changed it again, the new word would be consisitently used as the alternate word.
There was a drop down menu to choose whether you wanted to censor the whole word or portions of
it as well. I wished I had looked further to see if it would also censor a word that might happen to have the
bad word included in it. (For example censored word = sex    would sexually be then censored as well)
This site has the tools if it is censoring some words via email. I dare you to push some of the buttons and see what happens![:)]

BoredAsHell -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 10:26:54 AM)

it's not just the "money Dommes" that have grown to epidemic proportions, has anyone noticed the explosion of submissives/slaves who are willing to immediately move into a dominant's home? it's a sign of the poor economy, people who are out of work and facing difficult situations are basically willing to whore themselves out for three squares and a roof over their heads. there have always been those who behaved this way, but it's really amazing how many people have turned to this tactic.

submaleinzona -> RE: What is with all the money dommes?? (10/12/2010 10:30:35 AM)

It seems that there should be a distinction made between scammers and money dommes. I would think a "scammer" would be somebody who promises something in exchange for money, but doesn't deliver and disappears. A money domme is simply saying, "Give me money, and you'll get nothing in return." That seems very honest and straight-forward to me. It seems something not unlike the Internet equivalent of panhandling. Of course, even with panhandlers, they could still be scamming. Someone could come up to you and claim he hasn't had a beer in over a week and needs money for beer, but you might be skeptical and ask, "How do I know you won't buy food with it?"

Still, once you give your money away, it's gone.

If we are ever at the same event, I'd love to meet you and definitely wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity of doing so. DEAL!!! :)

Ok, I'm sure other people have probably ranted on about this point before but I'd just like to throw it out there. Surely it hasn't gone unnoticed the amount of "dommes" (and sadly, in this case I use the term rather losely here) that demand money in their profiles.

Now I'm not talking about pro-dommes here, or the usual tribute asked by quite a large number of dommes. No, I'm talking about the type of generic dommes, who have only a 2 or 3 line profile basically demanding you hand over your cash! WTF??

Firstly I understand the pro-domme point of view, they do this for a living so fair enough. Next is the tribute, that I understand too, it helps sort out the serious enquiries for the every present pain in the ass time wasters. This is a trend that immediately stands out if you do a search of dommes between the ages of 18 - 30. Maybe I'm being naive here and people are going to say "Duh, what did you expect?", but the sheer number of them is crazy! All of them can't possibly be fake, there has to be some that are real, surely?

It's always follows the same generic template, the usual "I'm a young goddess bla bla...I will humiliate you..rah rah..rape you wallet...yak yak... you get nothing in return...bulshit! I understand financial domination is a fetish enjoyed by some and thats great, but this is taking the piss!

I mean think about it, imagine for a second that this profile is actually real, lets break it down shall we..

You have some young (domme) woman who has put up a profile that says basically that she wants you to open your wallet and hand over your hard earned cash and for what?! For absolutely NOTHING!

It's usually all there in the profile, in the "I will take your money and ignore you" section. So again think about it, you hand over your money and you get what? IGNORED! No message, nothing at all. It's a form of phishing!

Even if "she" were genuine and not some scammer, you're still left with some spoilt little brat who's just going to take your money! But the funny thing about all this is, it's almost exculsively confined to female "dommes" aged between 18-30. Seriously, check it out if you want a giggle.

Lets imagine that 99% of these "dommes" are fake (and they most likely are), that still leaves 1% who are actually serious in their outrageous request. How come it's only dommes? You have dominant, submissive and switch males PLUS submissive and switch females who don't ask for any money. I mean when was the last time you saw a profile from a male or female sub asking for money for them to submit? I know I haven't seen any.

Honestly these people really grind my gears, not only are they making it hard for submissives (both male and female) to find a domme, but the give all the honest, genuine Dommes (and I know you're out there) a bad name and make it hard for them to find a sub!

*Grrr* Ok, rant over lol

Oh, just one last thing. For anyone seriously considering giving money to these people, think hard about it! It's a lot like walking up to some random woman in the street and handing her money, like the generic profiles she has done nothing to deserve it, but unlike them you might actually get to see her reaction!

Your thought, comments are most welcome..

Just because its been said before doesn't make it wrong! Well Said my good man!
