I'm an uncut member who just joined and thought I'd throw my two cents in on most of what's been said here.

1.  Cleanliness and Infections, never had any kind of problems at all, even when i was an unwashed loser in high school and didn't clean it for day's (doesn't happen anymore).

2.  Sex,  I've usually heard that it does make a difference for the girl, I live in Canada and circumcision is almost as common here as in the States and I always get a comment on the difference from girls who try their first uncut cock.

3.  Masturbation, in my opinion has to be better for the uncut, you don't need lube to do it every time, the precum lubes the head and foreskin and provides all the slide you need.

4.  Choice, I think no major life choices should be made for a child by the parents, especially ones involving surgery.  Circumcision should onlt be done at the request of the owner of the penis.

5.  Appearence,  the difference in appearence is usually only seen when limp and a badly done circumsicion (and I've seen a few) looks way worse than any bit of extra skin covering an uncut one.

6.  Pain, someone said that it hurts the baby less than an adult, not true the baby juat can't tell you about it usually no anasthesia is involved and I've heard of badly botched jobs causing major damage.

7.  Sensitivity, personally I have no clue on this front, I know my penis is not so sensitive that I've ever come prematurely, in fact it's usually the opposite, I tend to last a pretty long time.

8.  STD's, I see no way that an uncut penis would make one more suseptable to STD's, I would think the opposit with that scar there, if that could be cleared up for me by whomever posted that I'd like to see it.

petwolf22 -> RE: foreskin (4/30/2006 7:26:55 PM)

my only experience with an uncut penis...he wanted me to give him head, i tried to go near and and just couldn't get past the sweaty, sticky, smelliness of it.  i(And what do you say? "Hey, when's the last time you washed this thing?") i was turned off to even touching it.

i'd rather'd have a cut one any day.  just me though.

Actually, as someone who has watched a few circs being done - most places do use a topical analgesic ... at least around here.  And it's been shown that babies do not have a nervous system that is well enough developed to feel pain as adults do.

Yeah, they feel it, but it's most likely along the same lines as what I felt when I had my wisdom teeth pulled and they had anesthatized me - I could tell they were doing something in my mouth and I could tell which side they were working on, but there was no pain, just ... a sensation.

Now, botched ones are an entirely different story - because those damage the nerves permanently ... but done properly, it doesn't cause permanent damage.

For the record, I'm not advocating circumcision in any way, shape, or form.  Just stating what I know of it.

I've had both, as with most other things, I can go either way.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: foreskin (5/1/2006 12:05:18 AM)

I wouldn't know one, I didn't say there ever was one either, I said what if, however it's an example where one who said never would might end up.   I've heard a few people here alone say they had it done for medical reasons after adult hood. who's to say never would and then it becomes medically nessisary.

Kind of like people who say they have no limits at all will do anything at all and then you mention something and then they're like ok well maybe I do have limits. you can never be 100 percent of never

never say never LindaLashes. if it was life or death would you die to save your forskin? would you let your penis fall off if it was loose the forskin or it fall off?

yeah I am being a little extream but somethings are out of our hands.

That's not 'extream', that's vacuous.

Please provide a single instance where the removal of a foreskin was a necessary 'life or death' procedure.

Pet wolf Iknew a guy personally who's penis always smelled like rancid old unwashed pussy he just fucked, even after washing it. haha.

not the tastiest smell. also had a virgen best friend who's pussy smell was unpleasent in my opinion she was clean kept clean too the poor girl.

LoneGoddess -> RE: foreskin (5/1/2006 3:26:18 AM)

I like to play, extra nerves, yay me, more to play with. Otherwise though, it doesn't really matter. It's a penis. Not the man. He's the one who is important.

LG~

boy43 -> RE: foreskin (5/1/2006 3:39:11 AM)

i have to admit that seldom i have envy for the men that are circuncised cause it is more exposed, more slave-like sight, but here ends the advantages of being cut. The penis, as a the rest of our bodies are made this way for a raison, we are as we are not for azar but due to thousand of years of evolution, nothing in the body has not motiv.
In the other hand, men need to wash our parts daily, as higienic measure. i have received oral sex, and never a partner tell me it smell bad... but the contrary.

This is a ridiculously ignorant assertion.

But let's take it at face value for a minute and use it as a justification to perform breast implants and liposuctions on infant girls.  It will save them a lot of physical pain later in their lives as adults.  Besides, why should they have the choice of how their body looks anyways?  Their parents know best after all.

(disclaimer:  yes, I'm being facetious)

I agree and frankly can't imagine rejecting someone for how his penis looks... there are so many other reasons I see routinely for not being with someone. When I chose someone it is for many different reasons 99% of which have nothing to do with the penis.

I think men who worry that their penis's size, shape, color, cut or uncut, nature will harm their search for a partner are harming their searches just by being too focused on one thing.

Lordy, I couldn't agree more!  Geezeeeeeee, can you IMAGINE the up-roar if women were judged on the size or shape of their breasts or nipples...or perhaps their labia?  Tight?  Long?  Fat?  Wrinkled?  Smooth?  <sigh>

People are so wierd.  The reason I'm hear is because I've never BEEN with a guy who's not circumsized.  How odd is that?  Anyway...as with anything, I've heard a bunch about it...thought I'd see what a good ol' BDSM site had to say about it.

I will say, however, being a serious fan of cocksucking...I HOPE grown men know how to keep it clean!   IS that a problem?  Surely not...

Hmmmmmmmmm... Having grown up and heard the poor jokes about women smelling like fish, I tend to be a clean freak.  I bathe before work and I would bathe again before bed if I had a partner I slept with.  I go 'commando' most of the time, use white, unscented TP, no douche or 'feminine sprays' either; so I don't get yeast infections.  I like the smell of me and regularly lick and suck my own fingers.  While I also love the smell of clean sweat, pre-cum, a healthy pussy; if a guy or a gal smelled like fish or stale pee; I'd get grossed out.  Smegma... it's not nice if it’s days old, but then while I like ripe brie…I’m no fan when it smells like ammonia.  ...not a fan of 'cookies', either!!!  (urp)

See... again; kicking tires is important; you can still say 'no thanks' if you’re not collared!  LOL

I work in public health/health care.  This topic comes up a lot (usually after a few beers). Bottom line:  Health issues are probably NOT relevant to the decision to circumcise or not.  Here is the latest info. as best as I can tell:

While all of your credits might be true, there is current studies in the african nations investigating the theory that circumcision actually reduces the risks of HIV infection. One of the studies had NIH funding.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: foreskin (8/9/2006 6:52:55 PM)

You're lucky then I had all 4 cut out at once and I was in sever pain and I knew just what they were doing and I felt *every* moment of them cracking my teeth and pulling them out. I was also in excruciating pain I could only cry and hope to pass out quickly. Which didn't happen. Even the vicodin didn't help my pain.

Dear worshipyouMaam, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I'll take a lad as he has himself presented at the time.  Some lads never had a choice in their phallus, as parents decided for them.  It depends on society standards of the lads.  Foreskin or not--I take the lad into consideration for his entire self--not what foreskin or lack of it.

Foreskin just gives me more skin to torment and be creative with.  Some men have stretched their phallus skin as to create a new 'foreskin.'

What is important though, is that men take care to clean themselves more with foreskin.  Got to admit, some lads are lazy in that department.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Ah the old cut/uncut thread, again.  First, I only read the last page.  SO shoot Me.  You hang around here long enough you could bind an entire Old Testament with foreskins.  Anyway, Pandora is, as usual, correct.  I too work with many public health officers and I've asked the question.  On balance, if you are ONLY looking at health issues, there's a slight tilt in favor of cutting the little guy:

1.  Penile cancer is virtually unknown in circumcised men.  It is rare, but known in uncircumcised men.

2. The (female) partners of circumcised men show lower rates of cervical cancer.  Again, its a small drop, but its there.  And the studies attempt to control for all sorts of variables.  This makes sense, on a cleanliness/infection model.  But yes, if you clean John Henry with a good soap often, you may make this statistical difference insignificant.

3.  HPV (human papilloma virus) is less readily transmitted by circumcised men.  It appears, tho I don't think the differences are statistically significant, that chlymidia follows suit. Again, cleanliness might matter.

now against that, you have to weigh the issues of a botched job and infection.  Both are very rare, and yes, both can happen.

Bottom line, its religious tradition/culture/choice if you ask Me.  I suspect that you lower your overall cancer risk more by using sunscreen than getting cut.

Interesting topic. First off I'm new here so just reading a few threads.

Speaking as a guy who was circumcised at 15, i can say yes it is painful and given choice I WOULDNT DO IT. Many reasons, but saying it is cleaner is one thing but hygiene is not that hard to maintain. It does leave you with less sensitivity in my own opinion, and personally i regret this. I was given no choice but told it was the best option to me after a tight foreskin. I believe in freedom of choice in this matter and one i wasn't given.
