Mine has always been " Hurt no-one"     -   once i realised in late childhood that i could and did hurt people i cared about. I resolved to do that no more.

I would love to live in a world where my motto could be "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". That is unfortunately not the world we live in. While I do try to live by that creed I am ready at a moment's notice to substitute it with "Kill them all and let God sort it out."

Edited to add: This is something my mom used to always tell my 4 sisters and I as we were growing up.
She used to also say "If you marry for money, you wind up paying for it in the end"
