The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them.

I can't boil it down to one pithy saying! :/ I need more or I don't know what to do. Here's one I pay attention to:

"A solved problem is as useful to the human mind as a broken sword on the battlefield."

I'm framing that and putting it on my wall.

Mine is simply "Just be nice." Nothing earth-shattering or profound but it works for me.

"Better to die young, strong, on your feet, your body riddled with hundreds of bullet holes but still laughing defiantly to the end, than old, servile, feeble, and on your knees begging forgiveness pathetically from any power below Him."

A MUCH greater man than I, Emiliano Zapata, created the basis of the quote. In the spirit I dearly hope he would be proud of, I merely modernised it.

Personally I'd rather die in my sleep than riddled with bullets, given the choice.

Most endings aren't so dramatic anyhow, so chances are you'll die the latter way rather than the former.

I like your current avatar, SorceressJ. It reminds me a little of a Tool video.

Here's half a quote that serves me in very good stead, when I remember to apply it.

"...oh necessituous one, increase your need"

Not exactly a philosophy but it does illuminate a certain perspective:
"There is a heel too high to walk in, certainly. But who cares? You don't have to walk in high heels."
Christian Louboutin

If in doubt love always finds a way.
