Humillacion -> Collarme As A Hub For Russian Organised Crime (11/13/2010 10:57:20 AM)

Collarme As A Hub For Russian Organised Crime   If you had not noticed already, the majority of profiles on CollarMe are fraudulent. Current estimates are that around 95% of the total database of profiles are fake. New fake profiles are added each day at an incredible rate. This is intriquing. Why so many, and what is going on? A little research sheds some light on this. If you use Tin-Eye to do an image search on many of the profiles, you will find an amazing number of them are hosted elsewhere on websites with .ru  url. Frequently you will find these pictures fronting fake profiles on Russian dating sites, or Russian social networking sites.  Yet many of the profiles on CollarMe using these photographs are not for Russian users, but for girls located, ostensibly, in small towns through the UK, USA and Europe. Equally interesting is that these profiles on CollarMe are often well written and have had considerable thought put into making them seen genuine. One explanation would be that these are adolescent guys from the UK or Europe hoping to see a bit of totty on their webcams. But when there are a huge number of UK, USA and European amateur websites and forums to steal pictures from, why are the majority of these photographs being stolen from Russian websites? These Russian websites are hard to find and navigate for most English speaking users. The majority of hack attacks and ID theft originates from Russia, which is currently the capital of worldwide cyber crime. So, to all genuine users on CollarMe, be warned.

Um, you're assuming that the Russian pics were not stolen in the first place.

"Equally interesting is that these profiles on CollarMe are often well written and have had considerable thought put into making them seen genuine. "

You honestly cannot be serious.  One of the many red flags I use is that the fake profiles are semiliterate.  And regarding the "considerable thought", I just saw one yesterday for a woman ostensibly from New City, Colorado, and there isn't even such a city!

That said, welcome to collarme.

poise -> RE: Collarme As A Hub For Russian Organised Crime (11/13/2010 11:22:08 AM)

And then there are a small percentage of Collarme members that spend
3 years of their membership "investigating" photo's and sharing his/her
far fetched theory to an online community that really doesn't give a shit
about what other profiles may or may not consist of. Etc......

Lol, Cool it Poise. Actually, I always check on anyone who writes to me or who I am interested in. That is just sensible and it only takes 30 seconds. You are right most of the community doesnt give shit, but that is because most of them are guys talking to guys pretending to be girls :D

Raechard -> RE: Collarme As A Hub For Russian Organised Crime (11/13/2010 11:36:39 AM)

So now this scam has be uncovered by yourself what is the ultimate aim of these Russian crime lords?

Did they suddenly get bored of pretending to be banking sites?

I've been on this site three or four years and have yet to run across one that I consider well written.  Feel free to send one to me.  (Don't post it here - that would violate site rules).  I'm sending a few bad ones to you, with commentary.

Let me tell you something OP, my profile is well-written and thought out.  Does that make me a fake?  Nope.  I had help from a real female friend here help me with the written part.  Two profiles merged into one and into a cogent account of who I am and who I search for.  I also had a Dom friend check it for his point of view.  Both are as real as they come.

And where'd this 95% come from?  You went through every womans profile and came to that conclusion?  Back it up with facts bub.  Most of the people on the boards are "real" and I've made some very good friends that I know I can turn to and vice-versa.

As for the Russian mafia?  Good lord love a duck, you've been reading too many spy thrillers lately.  Mind you I love those, but I also know that's there's no big conspiracy theory within CM or any other internet site.  [8|]

ETA:  It's the way of the internet and the nature of the beast.  You take the good with the bad and learn to differentiate between the two.  Hard lessons are sometimes learned, but they stick with you, hopefully not to be repeated again.

A while back, there was a group on CollarMe called FakeWatch (Unfortunately CollarMe deleted most of the profiles of users who joined the group). They did a survey of all the profiles which had been online during the preceding two months and extrapolated the figures from that. I cannot vouch for its accuracy. But if you look through pages on CollarMe, using the search parameters of 18-30 + female submissive/slave, often five or more of the eight profiles per page, have borrowed photos, or some other element which makes them appear fake. So I would think if its not 95%, its at least in the 80 % range.

DaddysInkedSlut -> RE: Collarme As A Hub For Russian Organised Crime (11/13/2010 12:05:59 PM)

Did the Russian mafia get permission from the subby mafia to do business on CM? (just ask'n)

I love all the rescuers on these forums lately lol....never a short supply of entertainment.

I use my own criteria, and estimate the number of fakes to be about 10%.  I'm curious what criteria they used.

And just letting you know, 5/8 = 63%, which is less than 80%.   And you seem to think that results of 18-30 year old s types are typical of the site as a whole - why?  I would assume that the scammers would fake younger profiles, so that  overall results would be less than in that age range.  I'll also wager that there are fewer male scam profiles than female.  So you take results that indicate 63% fake profiles in a high probability area, and extrapolate that to 80%+ for the general population?

Edited to add:  Just a curious thought: you're 47, looking for 18-30 year old subs.  Every time I've seen older men looking for sub women substantially younger, they frequently complain about the fakes here.

No of course not : )

The point is really simple. If you trace the fake photos back to their source pages on the web, you will find them appearing on Russian amateur pics forums and importanly on profiles on Russian social networking sites. But appearing in very few other places. This is all :)

I must say I'm highly offended. I'm a member of the Opus Dei. Not Russian. Show some respect.[>:]

whops..can't believe I outed me.. and on top of that, on a message board. My bad I'm going to be anathematized now.

It's Jimmy Hoffa hiding in the guise of 18-30 yr old submissive females.

As usual, some subby has life all fucked up and twisted.

We don't ask for permission, remember?
