And nothing's going to happen until we get the population down by a couple billion. The "global warmers" have totally overlooked that problem.
Yet, our govt is using our money to feed hundreds of millions of people in foreign countries.
More people equals more polution.

It must be so soothing to your conscience to be able to think of those hundreds of millions as useless chattel. I'm glad that there are a lot of people who have a slightly more compassionate view of our fellow human beings...as much as it hurts to think about them starving while we stuff ourselves with turkey and sweet potatoes. But you, not giving a shit about them, obviously raise your fork to your chipmunk cheeks with a big 'fuck you' to the Third World.

Moonhead -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/28/2010 1:11:14 PM)

But them third worlders are taking handouts from the State Department as foreign aid* and sneaking across the border from Mexico to steal poopey's job. They must be evil...

*(I've asked poopey a few times what percentage of the US budget goes on foreign aid, and he's yet to suggest a proportion, or even a figure for any previous year. Still, I suppose if he knew that it was less than one percent, that might get in the way of his argument that his country is haemmoraging money to these greedy foreign bastards, mightn't it?)

Give it up, Ken. By turning an environmental theory into a vehicle to try and impose a completely unrelated social agenda, you destroyed the credibilty of all those who actually gave a crap.

It's no good trying to sound rational now, not when you personally equated questions with holocaust denial.

You killed Mother Earth! How does that make you feel?

WTF are you blathering about?

Are you under some mistaken belief that AGW is not very well established science?

TheHeretic -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/28/2010 1:43:38 PM)

I'm sure you'd be thrilled to change the terms of the discussion, Ken, but unless you are going to get on the page of talking about the damage you guys did to the rest of the environmental movement, I see no point in duplicating previous conversations where you just called me names, rather than addressing the history of climate on the planet. You also haven't left a good impression with your history of posting links, and hoping nobody will check when you tell stupid lies about what they say.

Takeme, it's not my job (or my govt's job) to be worrying about people in foreign countries. It (is) the job of the people in those countries and their govts to be worried about *their own* people!
The U.S. doesn't exist to be "giving" things to foreign countries especially the Taxpayer's money! (The U.S. govt. doesn't have any money.)
"Useless chattel?" They're not usefull to me or my country. Nor am I or my country useful to them unless we're sending them a foreign aid check.
"Foreign aid" doesn't work! Ninety eight percent of it is stolen! Look at Haiti, with all the money that's been poured into that country over the last 25 years it should be an island paradise! But, all the money was stolen! Look at "Baby Doc" Duvaliere when Clinton sent him to France and installed Aristede, he had a reported $675 million dollars in various banks and investments. All that money was stolen from the Taxpayers in this country and our govt did NOTHING about it! That fat *useless* bastard is living in luxury on U.S. Taxpayer Dollars! Haiti is probably one of the top three most corrupt govts in the world and people want to give them more money???
And our govt just keeps doing it! Another $45 Billion in foreign aid last year! The lawyers and lobbyists on K street in D.C. will probably grab $5 Billion of that right off the top for "helping" those govts rip off the Taxppayers!
I'm not responsable for people in foreign countries but I am responsable for helping out people in my own country which I do by giving monthly to three homeless shelters which are at "full capacity."
I'm sorry but I just don't get a thrill thinking about giving my money to people who are 6,000 liles away in some foreign country because *their govt* won't do it's job. So,... somehow (I'm) expected to pony up (my) money because because some people missed breakfast yesterday because *their govt* wasn't doing it's job??? (I'm) supposed to pick up the slack for some reason?
Foreign aid simply underwrites failure. It's very bad management, bad policy, loaded with corruption and it simply doesn't work.
I've been to about 40 or more countries, most of them shit-pits and the two things they all had in common were no rule of law and widespread corruption.
If they dealt with those two issues they'd have much better countries. But (that) is their job to do not mine.
And no, I really don't care about third and fourth world countries. Do you think they care about me? Oh they "care" about the U.S. but only when we're "giving" them something!

takemeforyourown -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/28/2010 1:59:11 PM)

Well, that's a fine way of looking at a whole group of people who, by no fault of their own, are the victims of their corrupt governments. Blame the victim and write them off. Now I get it!

takemeforyourown -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/28/2010 2:57:38 PM)

It's not that I believe that the U.S. government's money is going to solve anyone's problems. My beef is with people who think it's OK to allow a good portion of the world to suffer and die while we enjoy our ridiculously extravagant standard of living. Personally, I am looking forward to volunteering for Doctors Without Borders (something I've wanted to do since I graduated nursing school) after my kids are out of the house. I won the lottery when I was born in America, I would like to use my life for good. My silly philosophy of life is that we were born to love and help each other. I realize that a great many Americans think that they were born simply to enjoy their own conspicuous consumption, so go enjoy your luxuries!

Those people are the ones "allowing" it, not Me sitting here in Myrtle Beach, SC with steak juice dripping down my chin and my $46,000 Lincoln MKS to drive!
I guess if you live in a shit-pit foreign country you don't have to take any responsability for your behaviour or anything else!
I believe in helping people too but only in this country. I didn't much care for the book "Don Quixote." If you're a Nurse you don't need to leave the country, go to *any* big city and work in a clinic for a year! There's no shortage of homeless people who need your help in our cities! Extravagant bastards!
And we live good because the smartest people came here and worked their asses off, now were letting in the very dumbest and most dangerous!
I just can't grasp the concept of feeling "guilty" because *someone else* 7,000 miles away fucked up! How does that work, you become a sponsor or something? "Oh Baby! I feel REAL guilty now, I just promised my sponsoree in Crapistan $100 bucks but,.....he's not getting it!!!" Ha, Ha, Ha!"
Everyone on earth needs to be *responsable* for themselves, even your best friend won't wipe your ass for you.

WTF the are trying to claim? You've never done anything but make easily refuted claims and then run away when actual facts were presented.

You seem to have missed the fact that all those stolen emails and documents were investigated by several different governments and in dependent groups and they were found to not contain anything to cast doubt on the facts behind AGW.

domiguy -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/28/2010 8:27:25 PM)

This is the type of shit that causes my brain and eyes to bleed.

Having to read the useless shit spewed out on these forums by the likes of Firm, his equally uninspiring bride, the heretic or pops, just to name a few. It's disgusting.

Do you guys read anything that you post? Do you? Do you possess the ability to actually question anything that you read? Do you?

How many times has Firm posted an article to bolster one of his opinions only to realize after more intelligent people have read the article in full that the very article that he is citing ends up to entirely contradict the point that he is trying to make?

It has occurred with a such an incredibly high frequency that even I was at first astounded. What does this says about Firm? You will have to reach your own conclusions.

Look Einstien, it means he is not very intelligent.

So, here we have an article Written by Margaret Wente attacking the notion of global warming. The Heretic chooses to trot it out to bolster his idiotic stance on global warming.

Now,t he first thing I would ask is, "Who in the fuck is Margaret Wente?"

Not the Heretic, If it supports his preconceived conclusions then that is good enough for him...Pathetic shit, indeed.

If I was going to use her as a source on the subject I would think that she should have a vast knowledge of the topic at hand...You would hope that she might even be a scientist, right?

A scientist that has personally studied global warming. So this is who Margaret Wente is, right? She is a scientist that specializes in climatology, right?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....Of course not, she is a journalist...Not a reporter but a journalist. A journalist that reports from a conservative view point. More of a Hannity or a Canadian Coulter.....Is this starting to make sense?

Then I would want to know is she affiiated with any groups and do they have an agenda? I know none of you would consider something like this because first off, you don't care and secondly, you probably lack the intelligence for it to even occur to you in the first place.

Back on point, is she affiliated with any groups? Funny you should ask!!! Why yes she is.

She is a board memeber of the Energy Probe. And Domiguy, what praytell, is this Energy Probe? Weeeell, Sit back little kiddies and ole' Unca Domiguy will fill you in.

The Energy Probe is a group that early in it's infancy was dead set against nuclear power being utilized in Canada. So now the free thinkers amongst you have to be asking, Who would benefit from nuclear energy not being utilized in Canada.....Lol. This is getting good right?

Here is the link to the good folks known as the Energy Probe as well as their stance on global warming.

http://energy.probeinternational.org/page-climate-change

Here is a quote from them...

"...One of the greatest impediments to this knowledge, however, lies in the mandate of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which limits itself to man-made causes and thus excludes a needed inquiry into natural causes of climate change. To make matters worse, the many thousands of scientists who question the IPCC’s approach are being demonized as “deniers.” ..."

"The Thousands of scientists"....laugh my fucking sack off.

In closing, please remember that anything posted by the likes of Firm, treasure, pops or The heretic is most likely from the most biased and poorest of sources. Furthermore, if you actually read or questioned their poor sources it will reveal that these types of posters are in fact the unintelligent lot they you always suspected them of being.

They are idiots.

This was fun.

So you say, Ken. As I recall, you claimed to have reviewed all of them yourself, and found nothing, within just a few hours of the story breaking. And yet, the perception of ethical corruption, coupled with an over reaching political agenda brought the whole thing down. We are now discussing that damage. Or have you become the denier, now?

I have mentioned to you several times that you might want to read a book called "Confessions of an economic hit man".
Are you interested in finding out the causes and possible cures or are you content to stamp your foot and whine like a petulant child ?
