I'm sure you'd be thrilled to change the terms of the discussion, Ken, but unless you are going to get on the page of talking about the damage you guys did to the rest of the environmental movement, I see no point in duplicating previous conversations where you just called me names, rather than addressing the history of climate on the planet. You also haven't left a good impression with your history of posting links, and hoping nobody will check when you tell stupid lies about what they say.

WTF the are trying to claim? You've never done anything but make easily refuted claims and then run away when actual facts were presented.

You seem to have missed the fact that all those stolen emails and documents were investigated by several different governments and in dependent groups and they were found to not contain anything to cast doubt on the facts behind AGW.

Dom Ken, none of that matters if we're going to produce another million or so car drivers each year who we let into the U.S.
Without *population control* your side is just pissing into the wind and getting piss all over yourselves.
Population control is the key. If we keep sending food to Somalia then in ten or fifteen years their population will double! What then?

But when we have an entire generation of young people who learned that all the "facts" they were taught (and encouraged to browbeat their elders with) were nothing but spin all along, Muse?

And nothing's going to happen until we get the population down by a couple billion. The "global warmers" have totally overlooked that problem.
Yet, our govt is using our money to feed hundreds of millions of people in foreign countries.
More people equals more polution.

Well perhaps thats compensation to those starving people who are far less likely to been the culprits of global warming.
Not all of us think of those people as 'useless feeders'

ATJ, and one of the worst things we can do is to bring those people to industrialized countries where one of the first things many of them do is buy vehicles and start driving. Of course the "global warmers" never want to talk about that either.
Look at China, that's where the "g.w.s" need to be! Their polution is far worse than anything we have in the U.S. Brazil too.
The "g.w.s" don't want to talk about China or Brazil either. They only want to try to lecture the cleanest first world countries for whatever reason!
So they'll go to Denmark or Ireland instead of Brazil which is heavily poluted.
The U.S. is so clean now that we really can disolve the E.P.A.
You do understand that China has a functional Mag-lev train, right? And you understand that the Chinese are developing their own teks, which are superior to the German mag-lev systems, right? http://www.railway-technology.com/projects/shanghai-maglev/

No, you were clueless about this stuff? Na ja, kein Uberaschung.

So your 'for' starving tens of thousands (if not millions) of people to death? That's REALLY what you are arguing? And stating its to be used as 'population control'?

Pops: "It's for *them* to overthrow their govt's not me. No wonder the world hates the U.S. with all this interfering in foreign countries."

Thompson: "Isn't that what you did in your career with the cg....interfering with trade between soverign nations on the high seas?"

Pops posted earlier that he's been to over 40 countries. AFAIK, the CG doesn't call on foreign ports. I get confuzled with all the bullshit people spin. Not just righties, either. There's a guy on Bdotcom who claims to be running 14 corporations, over 20 charities, lectures governments on security, designs missiles and lasers, yada yada, and is only 34 with the advanced AA degree. I'd have to go search his over 20,000 posts to see what else he claims. There's someone very similar on CM, except he's not in New Jersey. Oh yeah, he cleaned up the rubble from 9/11 too. I think he also wrote Juliani's speeches.

Nailed his view pretty well.

Let's start starving people.

My father was also in the CG. He frequented Jamaica at the time for drugs busts. During time of war, the CG is often sent as well.

United States Coast Guard Port Security Units are deployable units organized for sustained force protection operations. They can deploy within 96 hours and establish operations within 24 hours. PSUs conduct OCONUS port security in support of requesting regional Combatant commander. They provide waterside protection to key assets (e.g. pier areas, high value vessels, harbor entrances) at the termination/origination point of the Sea Lines of Communications (SLOCs). PSUs may operate in U.S. territorial waters under the direction of a Coast Guard or Maritime Defense Zone (MDZ) command or in foreign waters as part of Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces (MESFs) within the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command structure.

In addition to their most recent support of homeland security operations around the country, PSUs were deployed to the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm in 1990. They also served in Haiti during Operation Uphold Democracy in 1994. In December 2000, PSU 309 from Port Clinton, Ohio was deployed to the Middle East to provide vital force protection for the Navy assets following the attack on the USS Cole.

We already are, if not sending aid=starving people.

We are starving millions of people a year, in every single country on this planet, if not intervening makes us culpable.

As I type this, we just killed an elderly grandmother in Denmark who ran out of cat food.

How can you live with yourself?

Rule, I have a better idea, why not let those third and fourth world countries become *responsable* and take care of their own people? There's a novel idea huh? You know, instead of making U.S. Taxpayers have to pay because a country is a failure.
Hey, how's about I don't pay my mortgage next month and,.....YOU pay it "for" me!!!
Here's another idea, hows about we send $100m each to Haiti and Somalia and then watch how long it takes to "dissapear?" Within 48 hours it will be in a Swiss bank account.
*Noone* can steal like Haitians and Somalians!

LOL, yeah, "he" will be "responsable" for Me! Then, I can indulge in all kinds of bad habits because I know my "benefactor" Rule, will pick up the tab!
"Rule, I dropped a grand at the track last night, can you help me out buddy?"
"You scaliwag Popeye, .....where's my checkbook?"
"Oh, I missed my car payment last month, save yourself a check and include it on this one!"

Moonhead -> RE: Getting back to the basics of saving the planet (11/29/2010 10:23:48 AM)

Will he tell you how to vote as well?
That's the only reason for foreign aid, sonny: your country has been making a point of encouraging dependency then cutting off funds to countries who don't do as they're told.
And, as you seem to require a reminder, what proportion of last year's budget went on foreign aid? Do you have a figure, or just no clue what you're talking about?

Hippie, the Coast Guard does indeed visit foreign ports.
I've been to Port O Prince, Haiti six times transporting prisoners back to Haiti after we picked them up out at sea in overloaded boats.
And we went to many Carribean countries as well, Jamaica, The Caymans, The Dominican Republic, Panama, and a lot of others as well as Bermuda.
I was also in the U.S. Navy before that for four years and went to most of the Mediterainian countries, N. Africa, and the Middle East.
I've been as far East as you can go in the Med, Iskenduran, Turkey to fuel up.

Joether, are you trying to say that *I'm* responsable as a U.S. Taxpayer because people in foreign countries fucked-up?
There's a whole bunch of people and things ahead of me in line that *don't* bare any responsability?
Like their countries, their presidents/rulers, their lack of the rules of law, widespread corruption, a lack of systems, a failure of systems, out of control population growth, lack of education, lack of any type of organisation, superstition?
So,.....you by-pass ***all*** of that and want to blame Joe Taxpayer in the U.S. somehow? You give all those people and things a "pass" and blame someone who has absolutely *nothing* to do with the situation? I mean,.... what kind of "thinking" is that???
I don't want my Taxdollars spent on helping foreign countries so somehow, ....it's *my* fault that those countries fucked up? (Ergo Propter Hoc)
I'm supposed to be "thankfull" or "gratefull" that *my government* is taking my money and giving it to foreign countries??? How does THAT work?
"And in national news the country of Crapistan has failed so that will be another country that the U.S. govt will expect U.S. Taxpayers to become responsable for feeding, clothing, housing and paying medical care for."
And somehow the Taxpayers are the "bad guys" because we don't want to pay for foreign countries?
Joether, when you force someone to become dependant on you they don't like you, they fucking hate you!
This must be more "feeeeeel good" govt. policy.
"I don't actually have to DO anything, my govt. simply takes Tax money "which is other people's money and not mine" and takes care of all kinds of problems "for" us!" ("Weeeeeee!" "Now I feeeeel good about myself!")

You've finally produced a figure?
Got a source for that one, or did you just make it up like most of the other drivel you come out with?
