I believe its just an informal way of writing !

I think the word you're looking for is "infantile" not "informal".

All of my experiences with submissives who want to be in an ongoing relationship have been that they want someone else to be in charge. They want to hand over their freedom to one special person and they want to feel safe within those boundaries.

That's not been my experience of the majority of submissives.  Sure, they want to be in a situation that's safe (who doesn't?) - but I'd say the overriding reason that they want to be with a Dom/me is for the excitement and adventure.  So much so, in fact, that they're willing to step out of the safe world of the vanilla lifestyle.

Of course majority rule works. Its in our workplace, its in peoples religion and its even in the protocols of BDSM and of course this puts people in a safe place.

Majority rule doesn't always work for the minority.  The Jews in Nazi Germany were a minority - it didn't work for them, for instance.  It didn't put them in a 'safe place'.

Adventure and excitement comes at the lighter end of submission in my humble opinion. When I go out to a club and play with a couple of submissives who I hardly know, I feel adventurous and excited. When I 'play' with my fem sub I feel adventurous and excited and so does she but neither of us can feel adventurous and excited all the time and so if we want to continue within the lifestyle together, on a permanent basis and in a long term relationship then we need something more than adventure and excitement.... so what could those other things be? What I want as a dominant is to lead and control (be it subtle) and have a bit of adventure and excitement on the way and what she wants as a submissive is to be led and controlled (be it subtle) and have a bit of adventure and excitement on the way. What she doesn't want is, just adventure and excitement with no 'real' leadership or control because its those two things that inspire her submission and make her feel safe.

As for your second quote, I don't understand what you don't understand about what I said. Of course it doesn't work for the minority and that's exactly what I was saying.

You could be right, as far as you and your partners are concerned.  However, for me . . . nope, it doesn't fit at all . . . .

That's interesting - it really does seem that 'real' leadership and control are important to you and the person who submits to you.   I get that.

Hmmm.  I don't need to feel controlled, and to feel safe, in the same way at all.  The 'safety' aspect is a given - there's no deep drive in me for that - none, that is, beyond what there'd be in any vanilla male (or Dom male, for that matter). Similarly, I don't need  leadership and control in order to feel secure in any way.  Instead, though, and however subtly such leadership and control is exerted, I enjoy them.  But to imply that such enjoyment is in some way 'lightweight' would be very far from the truth.   I would never call 'ecstacy' the 'lighter end' of anything - and I've been to that wonderful place before.

Well, each to his/her own!

Right - I had a feeling later that I hadn't grasped your point there.  Crossed wires.
