Okay maybe i am missing something but what's wrong with living off a Man?  IF he enjoys keeping a woman but more importantly CAN keep her in the style he wishes her to be held, i am not getting where that is wrong.

However, if he can't keep her in the style and goes broke doing so, then to me is an issue with him as the Dom/Master.

If it was me as a guy living off whatever you make as a woman, would you be ok with that?

I don't see the issue as long as both parties are happy with it. Screw tradition - house husbands are amazing.

Long as it works... what's the problem?

Really? Has any woman here been the sole breadwinner for years AND been happy doing it? I very, very much doubt it.

I'm sure there are a few, but they're in the minority, sort of the exception that proves the rule.

I saw this posted on another thread:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-467390/Househusband-backlash-high-flying-wives-ditch-men-em-em-wanted-stay-home.html

Basically despite misguided notions of "total equality" it seems like financially supporting a spouse makes a woman see him as less than a real man...there's no pride there like with men who are able to brag that their wives don't have to work.

Here I don't know because I don't know most people's private lives. But off this forum? I can prove you wrong with one phone call.

Quite frankly, I'm disgusted with the idea that it's 'wrong' for a partner of either gender to take care of the house while the other works. Who works and who stays home is up to the couple but there is nothing wrong with that arrangement. I don't see how gender even comes into it.

Indeed. While I appreciate the link, it's no real surprise to me. Deep down (in places women don't like to talk about at parties!) no woman wants to be the lone burden-bearer, even high-earners. It's almost a taboo topic in our society, something we all know deep down but don't want to talk about, or even think about.

Actually you don't speak for all of us. *eyeroll*

I know one couple where the house husband has been taking care of the kids for years and they are perfectly happy with the arrangement. If I made enough money, I wouldn't have an issue with Valyraen staying home and taking care of the house. Means I don't have to do as much fucking laundry and I get to go out and socialize at work. It would suit our personalities much better, actually, if I could bring my owner a paycheck as service.

*checks down her blouse* I appear to still be a woman...

LOL, I don't doubt your actual gender, but I do doubt you'd be as happy with the above arrangement in practice, after a few years, as you claim in theory. I could be wrong (and on this particular point, I'd be DELIGHTED if I were!!), but my prediction stands.

BTW, (fishes hand down boxers and reconfirms presence of twin spheres) I'm a man.

BTW again, anyone know how to alter my sig??

You can doubt all you wish. About three years ago I had a man on here tell me in 12 months I'd be a dominant and have Val on a leash. So you can figure out how seriously I take the internet predictions of people who don't know me in the slightest.

And you go into your profile settings. Top right hand corner.

Hehe well I guess I'm the weird outspoken one as usual, I have no problem admitting it, just like I'd be freaked if my husband started wearing dresses or makeup.

I wouldn't tell other people how their relationship "should" be but I have no interest in being expected to act like a man.

Depends on how you define acting like a man.

I like to think of him as my feudal overlord while I work his lands for his pleasure. That I sometimes make money doing sales and other work in a corset adds wonderfully to this.

And then he grabs me in the castle hallways for a quick tup... Mmmm...

Valyraen. The man I quote in my sig lines. My owner of... I think.. five and a half years - I don't keep track of anniversaries beyond a year. Particularly not that one. *chuckles*

Though holy crap... *laughs* Valyraen and I are trying to figure out how long we've 'offically' been in a power dynamic. It has to be at least 5 years so the guy who said I'd be a dom in 12 months must have been more like 4 years ago. That guy's prediction didn't work out too well!

If I'm good he wears his ren fair gear around the house.

(Have I mentioned I love garb? And crap... I make a mistake mentioning this thread to him. Now we're making a lot of bad Rennie and gamer jokes involving the game 'Overlord').

Bring out the swords and shields...let the jousting begin....NOW

I had a house husband once.  worse mistake I ever made.  Luckily I got rid of his ass.

Will I meet another guy?  Probably not.  I am keeping my legs shut and telling myself that there is more to a relationship than a quick romp in the bedroom.

Mmm... jousting... sweaty men in armor...

I know it's not for all women. Hell it's probably not for most women... but yeah... I'm completely ok with the idea of coming home, him handling the laundry and he'd actually be able to set up his shop and do work there so he'd be all sweaty and smell like wood shavings or grease...

I think I need new panties now.

I know based on my personal experience the vast majority of ladies I have met here want to be stay at home.

Unfortunately, I do not respect that. I suppose it would be different if she was a mother as that has always been the dynamic for the majority of human history with the exception of a few cultures - man provides and woman stays around the cave and cares for the kids. (I can picture the flames now )

This is the 21st century. Three bedroom and two bath home take maybe four hours to clean from top to bottom. Food takes maybe an hour a day to prepare so that is five hours out of sixteen. (Yes I have done both professionally so I know what I'm talking about.)

I guess a lot of that is my hispanic background where very defined roles still exist and if the woman is not working outside the home then she is raising a garden and running a business from inside the home (at least in my family.) Personally, I would be ashamed to have a woman who stayed home and sat on her butt or just did "stay busy" work meet my family.

As for the dynamic of being a house husband. When I have financial freedom then maybe but I highly doubt that as I just would not respect myself if I did and no one in my family would respect me if I did; but, having said that this is LIFESTYLE and if it works for you and you are both happy then that is all that matters.
