I never ran from my own words, you seem to just make stuff up and fling it at me. Why don't you back up your statements with quotes? Oh right, because I never actually said the things you think I did.

Whats your point? Are you trying to point out more examples of Einstein being wrong or what?

Those were your words, yes? why, yes, they were.

quote:

It's inaccurate to say that science comes up with new answers to old questions that we thought we already knew the answer to, because it implies that we were totally wrong.

More words of yours. Now you are claiming that science isnt "totally wrong". Just partially because they dont have all the information. Yet, above that post, is the one of you claiming Einstein was wrong.

And an appeal to authority is a logical fallacy; smart or not, people can be wrong and people can make mistakes. Huge mistakes. Take the cosmological constant Einstein incorporated into his model of general relativity. He made a huge mistake in doing that, and why? Because he didn't like that his theory said that the universe should be expanding, so he made it so it said that it didn't.

*shrugs*

And again, another stating Einstein was wrong, but excusing it as a "big mistake".

quote:

Einstein was not completely wrong with his cosmological constant.

And yet another saying he was only partially wrong.

So, which excuse will you use now?

You said he was wrong, then only partially wrong, giving excuses as to why you believe he is now only partially wrong when you stated earlier that he was wrong, no partial about it.

Honestly, own your own words.

The comment was made that Einstein was wrong.

The comment was made by you.

FINALLY! Thank you for illustrating that you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about [:)]

EDIT: And for the record, it was Einstein that said that it was one of the biggest mistakes that he ever made, but I'm sure you'll just conveniently ignore this and continue to gloat over nothing.

ROFL... you live up to your nic. But your words are black and white. An intelligent man, as you claim to be, would realize that you should mean what you say and say what you mean.

Leaves many things in doubt.

That was me being facetious, but I'll pretend I wasn't since you alreay seem to have.

Einsteins cosmological constant; was he wrong to ingore the prediction of his model and add this constant so it produced the results that he thought it should produce? Yes. If he hadn't have added it, then he would have discovered that the universe was expanding before hubble, but when the prediction was tested and the rate of expansion calculated, they would have added a cosomlogical constant, but a MUCH smaller one than the one that Einstein added. If he hadn't have done this though, the expansion of the universe wouldn't have been an accidental discovery some years later, they could have tested it straight away.

Yet, I'm sure with this explanation you are still not going to understand what I'm saying, and I didn't really think you would understand, I'm just posting this for the other people who read these forums that actually have brains.
