There are a few girls in my martial arts class, you most likely would end up with pretty bad injuries because their reaction would teach you they don't like it and consider it assault and they would tell the cops that they used the least force needed to stop you, so they only dislocated your shoulder or broke your arm instead of breaking your neck.
The fact that you want to hit any woman sounds a bit like you have a problem with women, I'm primarily a sadist, but that doesn't mean I want to hit or whip random people, I'm very very picky about the people I play with.

Slapping somebody is not a good way to assert authority unless it is in a scene, in a civilized environment physically assaulting a person is seen as a sign of losing control, which is a weakness. As for unlocking an inner caveman, who on earth does want to go back living in cold and wet caves (think about the arthritis the environment can give you), being dressed in flea ridden furs, no hot water, not soap, no tooth brush, grunting over a burned piece of meat instead of of a civilized conversation over a nice glass of wine in front of an open fire place and having central heating. You're in your 40's - chances are that as a caveman you'd be considered Methuselah, sitting toothless in a corner of the cave, unable to move on account of your arthritis, no teeth left (dentists were in short supply in caves), dependent on your family to feed you and since you couldn't chew well, you'd be starving anyway. The glory of caveman days seems a bit overrated to me.

You mean you, a grown man, were not able to keep yourself under control, you lost your selfcontrol because of something a girl said, a girl who's a stranger? You know this thing going to court could end really bad for you, including in you losing your driving license because a judge would say you don't even have enough selfcontrol to be trusted to drive a vehicle. Her face flew to one side, you know how much compensation she could claim for a whiplash injury? I don't know what you do for work but it's also possibly you could lose your job for this and mess up your career, you can end up with a criminal record. Was the slap so satisfying that it would be remotely worth it?
A few facts of life, you a guy hurting a woman (especially in public) who hasn't assaulted you first, there is no need for you to physically defend yourself, you're going down if charges are pressed, I'm not saying it's fair but in the reversed case the women could say she felt threatened, your profile says you are 6' and 240 lbs - how is that going to look in court? You think you could get away with claiming selfdefense? I doubt it very much.
I'm surprised that nothing else happened, in the pubs and clubs I go to (no matter if vanilla or scene related) fights are immediately stopped by staff, a guy hitting a woman is not very well liked, being kicked out with a bunch of bruises and being barred would be the most harmless thing that could happen to you.
Losing control over yourself is a sign of weakness, nothing dominant about. Simply weak!
