Really?

Enjoy the gassed showers.    HA!

Let me guess: this is some sort of mind control chip that the Conspiracy are hiding in vaccinations?

Is the chip responsible for turning you completely insane or was that congenital?

Student has emergency brain surgery after ‘being beaten around the head with police truncheon’ during protest A student was rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery after he was allegedly hit with a police truncheon during last night’s tuition fees protest. Alfie Meadows, 20, developed bleeding on his brain when he was hit as he tried leave the ‘kettling’ area outside Westminster Abbey, his mother said./snip
Hmmm  yeah- they showed "restraint".  I guess that kid wont be attending...

I was wondering when you'd spout that one – it’s been around for a day here – your idol has feet of glue [:D]

For a start we've only got his word it was a cop who did it - there was a lot of stuff being thrown by the thugs.

But even if it was, the only striking out I saw was at the "front line", where the little darlings were bashing the police with metal barriers, sticks, etc. Serve the little thugs right. As I said earlier in the thread, at the time I was watching it live; some people want a punch-up, and doubtless they'll find one.

Oh, and the London students leader refused to condemn the thug-started violence, despite admitting police did not strike out first. What an idiot*.

*her, I mean, not you**
**although obviously you're an idiot as well, but I didn't see much point in re-stating the bleedin obvious [;)]

Do you know what "alleged" means in a news story, you halfwit?

SL4V3M4YB3 -> RE: London Protests Turn Violent With Parliament Under Siege Protesters are now fighting with polic (12/11/2010 12:27:18 PM)

Besides it was only an emergancy because they were dealing with the unknown: a student with a brain.

If it wasnt the cop-- it was the horse.

...or camilla.     ;-0!~~

"Camilla" and "horse" are synonyms.

I think the lad with alleged brain damage was protesting somewhere else, though...

Well of course he was, but it's not like PA will ever know. Reality is like outer space to him [;)]

According to more reputable sources than the apologists for fascism who inhabit these forums, 6 police officers were injured and 43 students.

It looks to me like the police had a field day out there, beating people up and going completely overboard with the violence. The news has been full of descriptions of the brutality of the police. What a bunch of bastards. You can always rely on an English bobby to beat your brains out.

I remember some years ago going to a demo outside the US embassy (the enemy at that time was Libya - there's always someone new to blame, isn't there?). On the way, crossing a road, I remember a riot van deliberately crossing the white line as if to run us over at high speed. How they must have laughed. Nothing has changed. The police force is full of thugs and hooligans drunk on power. A bit like the banks, and our government, really.

I didn't see the police throwing missiles at people, sure there is a bit of truth to what you say but everyone loves to play the victim when something they've done ends up costing them. The protestors always say the same thing: "Oh it wasn't us there were roguish elements that turned out intent on violence, we were sitting around singing kumbaya my lord."

You wouldn't see the Police throwing missiles - that isn't what they do. What the Police do is kettle crowds into small areas and punch and truncheon the people at the front. Or maybe just take a swing at someone at random, like that guy they killed recently at another demo. Or maybe they'll get someone into the back of a van and beat the shit out of them there. Or give them a good kicking back in the cells. Often, they hide their badges and cover their faces to avoid getting caught, and they all lie to cover each others backs. A policeman's lot is not a happy one (happy one...)

Oh purlease.
You want to demonstrate, then take the fucking consequences and man up. Yeah... those police officers you alledge hiding their badges and names fursure... what about the hundreds of demonstrators with balaclavas and scarves?[8|]
You want to see strong police tactics? Try the french... those protesters wouldn't last a minute there.
Do not whine about poor old students (most of whom aren't even going to be around when this comes in) getting hurt when they should be able to face the outcomes that is minor in comparrison to most world cimes of injustice.

Besides don't the police have luminous GUID's written on their heads to identify them?

That's fine. If you want to live in a Police State, that's entirely up to you. Personally, I'd prefer not to be in a position where the state-sponsored thugs in uniform are no better than the people they are supposed to be protecting us from. Yes, there were some trouble makers in amongst the students, but I don't really expect to see their exact opposite numbers squaring up to them in the police lines. When gangs fight each other on our streets, innocents will always be the victims.

The police should be better than the gangs. But they are not. In fact, often they are a damn sight worse.

RCdc -> RE: London Protests Turn Violent With Parliament Under Siege Protesters are now fighting with polic (12/11/2010 3:00:28 PM)

Correct about what?
You want to demonstrate, then take the consequences. You wouldn't put your hand in a fire without knowing that something might get burned, cooked or !flameon!
I have zero respect for any so called demonstrater who doesn't have the courage of their conviction to put their face out there, just as the officers do.

I don't believe that the police or any authority are infalible... but don't harp on about people getting hurt - expect it. accept it and deal.
