ORIGINAL: RapierFugue It's not even true to say that the US was the biggest combatant against Japan in the Pacific campaign. I have to say that surprised me when I first found out*. * some 20 years ago. Who was? China? I've never thought about it that way, since of course we study wars from our national perspective, but it'd make sense of one of Japan's actual neighbors had more soldiers fighting against their imperialism than we did. quote:
ORIGINAL: Moonhead Having a till where people could press buttons with pictures on them is cheaper than giving them a course in basic numeracy and expecting them to remember prices, I suppose. (Of course, this could be one of those urban myth things...) Most restaurants, even non-chain places, these days just have touch-screen registers with "buttons" with the name of the meal on them. Like "cheese pizza slice" or "medium soda" or "combo 3".
