I'm still trying to figure out what an organization that is dedicated to fighting pornography laws has to do with banning people from chatrooms. I'd love to be sympathetic and supportive, but I really don't understand what it is that I'm supposed to be sympathizing with.

I think that in order to achieve that level of "understanding", you first need to experience repeated blunt head trauma.

Maybe I need more coffee...but I don't understand.   What is a primary number question?  It can't be your age, since you admitted to leaving off two digits.   I don't go to the chat rooms, so this had me baffled :)

They talk about primary numbers in chatrooms?  I thought chatrooms were all protocol and sex talk.  Sounds boring.

"Take my 17, bitch!"

"I'm slipping my long 73 in nice and slowly"

"Go easy with that 97, big boy!"

I have to say it doesn’t do anything for me but each to his/her own

Well, if it's about number one or number two, it could offend those for whom scat and golden showers are limits.

Seriously, I have a real hard time with that one as well.  I cannot believe that anyone would discuss math in the chatrooms, especially something as boring as prime numbers.  And being kicked out for talking math... Like I've said, we're not getting the whole story.

To paraphrase the Great AI:

Chat room?   A chat room?  Man this is just a chat room.  It's not like we're talking about life, it's just a chat room.  Come on man we're talking about a chat room.

Clearly they do, else there wouldn't be this thread.

Although you could add "... until the mod kicks them" to the end of your question.

I wonder when the OP will post a thread about the mods here.
Violating TOS, and the lovely letter he might get.

~~Fast Reply~~
The chat rooms the OP is grousing about are on the IRC network and the server address is chat.collarme.com, and can be accessed by irc clients such as mirc, pirch, and ice. It is also possible to access the chat rooms via the site by clicking the button that says "CHATROOMS". Once there, the ONLY channel that is operated in toto with Collarme, is the #IRCops channel, and the ops (and I am one of them, among the other things I do) ONLY get involved with server issues, NOT room issues, as it is very plainly stated that the rooms are USER created and Collarme is not involved in the moderation of them. The only time we get involved are because of site TOS violations also. There are NUMEROUS chatrooms, some popular, some with not as many users in them. ANYONE is welcome and even urged to start their own room, that way they can set their own rules. The rooms that have totally outlandish rules do not tend to be popular or last long, by virtue of most people not wanting to be in them. It will not help to write the mods here, and as far as never knowing who to contact when looking for site response in "less traveled areas", it is always possible to write Support or myself and get an answer(that is NOT a license for yall to start cmailing me instead of Support, ) As I think has been pointed out, there are also video chat rooms here, and although there are many user created rooms there, there IS moderation there, although, again, we do not make you play nice or be courteous, etc. we(yes I'm me there too) are not there to be playground attendants.

As a last aside, although I respectfully say this, it is patently obvious that so many spout the term "Free Speech Coalition" and free speech in the same sentence, when in actuality they have NOTHING to do with each other. http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/ Please read that before you start lumping it in with supposed First Amendment rights.

edited to add: ThatDamnedPanda seems to be the only one aware of that organization referenced above.

additional edit: and stef!

Is it really such a big deal to have a big flat screen?

Actually, quite a few people pointed out that what the OP thought that organisation does, and what it actually does, are two very different things.

But by god it was funny watching him get angry

I knew, but Kirita provided the link.  I didn't realize that we had to assist someone with a mission statement that is easily found through google.

Well, what  can you say?  The actual education level for your average two week old chat room Dom isn't very high.  Can't blame that one on the public schools.
