Status: offline 		At the end of the day,America will alway's be a Moderate Nation.America is not too far liberal nor is America too far conservative.This is the reality check.Whenever each side goes too far to an extreme,you can better believe the voter's will pull this country right back into the middle.The Moderate/Independent minded people of this country from any party or no party,is the true silent majority.The far left liberal's and the far right conservative will never rule over common sense.

many women admitted voting for clinton because he was "cute".

Just look at some of the drivel that gets posted in here by alleged centrists who make William Luther Pierce look like a liberal...

The centre of a circle is where nothing happens, you have to move to the edges to get any kind of backwards/forwards movement. I don't see the middle as you do, I don't think being moderate is useful if it means the status quo is always maintained especially if you can see what you currently have isn't perfect. If you are a moderate between two extremes of people; one wanting change and the other wanting what they have then you'll end up with no change. It's been this way for a while, it's a general political problem not confined to the US. Whose parents lives were so great that they want exactly what their parents had? If you are have happy with what you have then you have accepted that society can't be improved. You end up being the man who was happy to live in a cave.

Status: offline 		I know America is probaly the most conservative nation in the Western world.Some part's of America are more liberal than other's.The Northeastern part of the USA is fairly progressive.

I do agree that there is a place for extreme side's,both liberal and conservative's.This is true,that most idea's come from each end.The problem is,both side's only view thing's in black and white thinking.It's either my way or the highway.Moderate's tend to see thing's more in gray.There need's to be some compromise.If it was left to the extreme ends of either side,nothing would ever get down.

There are issue's where one can't sit on the fence.Doing the right thing does mean picking a side.On social issue's,I am a liberal.However,I also believe this country need's to defend ourselve's and work out our fiscal diaster.At the end of the day,I don't vote for someone just because they have a D or an R next to their name.I study who I vote for and I vote for who I feel will be the best person for the job.

My question was because it occurred to me that both you and Moonhead seem to have a point of view that I've often heard, and one that I believe is based on a common fallacy and misconception.

It's often made by both Americans and Europeans.

It's my thesis that since American civilization is a child of the Western traditions of Europe, that many people do not realize that we are a very separate and distinct culture.  That the similarities often blind us to our differences.

When you judge us by what you think "our shared values" are, you do us a disservice, just as we Americans do a disservice when we attempt to judge European countries by our values.

Really?  According to Wikipedia:
"William Luther Pierce III (September 11, 1933 – July 23, 2002) was the leader of the white separatist National Alliance organization, and a principal ideologue of the white nationalist movement. First educated as a physicist, he later worked with George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party. He achieved notoriety as the author of the novels, The Turner Diaries and Hunter, which were written under the pseudonym Andrew Macdonald and published under the aegis of National Vanguard Books. He is also the founder of "Cosmotheism", a religion based on white racialism, pantheism, eugenics, and National Socialism."

His novel "The Turner Diaries" describes a time in the future during which race wars are occurring and "racial traitors" are being hung in the streets by the "heroes" of the novel, a white separatist organization.  His novel "Hunter" is told from the point of view of the "hero", a person who assassinates mixed-race couples.  The novel was dedicated by Pierce to a serial killer belonging to various white separatist/supremacist groups.

Care to enlighten us just which "centrists"...or for that matter, further-right...posters on here you have seen espousing the same points of view as Pierce, let alone worse ones?
