Oh- I did see that Germany too was having problems.   So point taken.

Do your research

[sm=rofl.gif]

Yeah right. Like that's going to happen. If it isn’t a flakier publication than the National Enquirer, he’s not interested.

I was offered some heavy duty prescription pain killers from the nice doc today, he warned me that under no circumstances I can drive or handle machinery, and told me I wouldn't want to as things would all a bit fuzzy, given the fact that I have to work tomorrow, I politely declined (I can have a phone conference with my foot up and an ice bag on my ankle). I have the sneaky suspicion that I am not the only victim of slippage here but somebody else possibly didn't decline the meds...

Most of Europe.... Last time I checked Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam weren't in Germany. How rude of them to change the map and relocate cities without even telling me!

I don't know if I should ask this- but did you slip in the ice?

If you ever actually did get the point you'd STFU when trying to discuss things you know nothing about.

That's everything, in case you hadn't worked that out yet.

Germany is usually known for efficiency.    more- so then those other places...

Do you ever actually read anything, or do you just sit there jabbing keys at random?

Damn that global warming

Another area you are absolutely ignorant in, it has to warm up to snow.

Nope, I actually fell over one of my cats and tumbled down a flight of stairs... As I said to the doc "I wasn't even drunk" and he said "That figures, drunk people usually don't get sprains or fractures..."

Disclaimer - I don't think he was advocating being drunk all the time to avoid such incidents.... (Just making sure before you accuse the UK docs to turn people into raging alcoholics)

LadyC,   I hope you heal quickly.  I am sorry you hurt your foot.

It snows every year.   They should be prepared for it.

No it doesnt, some years we have very little snow, mostly it is very light or short lived.

Side note-  it is very easy to trip over a cat.   Mine has a tendency to be where I am not looking. She wants affection-  but I do not always see her in the dark- or when I am focused on something else.

LOL, no worries, could have been a lot worse, could have broken a neck or a wrist, I can work with a dodgy ankle and a brilliant excuse to demand that everything is brought to me (and to skip a few pre Xmas parties I didn't want to attend anyway)

I think it would be much more expensive to have all the preparations for snow and then use it for what? 3 to 10 days maximum.

How sweet of you.

Now could you manage an apology for the endless reams of pure shite you post, including this thread you started?

Thanks.

Hey at least he's giving me sympathy, other half claims that is karma for torturing him when he was suffering from a vile hangover.

Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your fall and hope it mends soon.

I wonder if the stuck passengers moaning about a lack of snow clearing equipment would be happy to see costs added to the bill. I also wonder why all those drivers stuck on the M5 on Saturday went out when there were severe weather warnings given in advance ?

pahunkboy -> RE: Heathrow Responds To Big Freeze By Freezing Passengers Heathrow responded to Britain’s big freeze (12/19/2010 4:34:24 PM)

I wonder how many went out- even after being told that it should be essential travel only?   Then got caught in the mess and now sour grapes.

The detail of lack of heat - very well could just be how wide open public spaces are- they are drafty.

The point that this area is mild is noted- as that Germany also has problems.

it does sounds like a lack of communication- the airlines- not knowing if a flight is canceled or not-  and some would be prompted to take a chance rather then lose the cost of the airfare which often is non-refundable. .. which brings us back to sour grapes.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Heathrow Responds To Big Freeze By Freezing Passengers Heathrow responded to Britain’s big freeze (12/19/2010 4:37:46 PM)

Thanks, it's already changing colour and I'm sure the swelling will go down and then they X-ray again and decide if I need a cast, hopefully not, even the air casts are uncomfy, I guess it's punishment for being too proud of slim ankles and having bought myself beautiful but rather expensive and not very practical designer shoes for Xmas ;)

The few times I encountered the weather problems, everybody was more than understanding and the UK deals with it, everybody knows it's short time, companies tell their people to rather stay home than risk accidents. Machinery to deal with it is not cheap and if it just rusts for 355 days a year, it's not a great ROI.
