ORIGINAL: Jeffff Yes that's it. Don't comment on what the tape shows. Just gives one of your patented nonsense posts. What the tape shows is a guy asking Frank a question about a part of the policy that apparently troubles some people. Period. I think Frank gave him a good answer, but his insinuations about the guy's motives were uncalled for. Talk about commenting on what the tape shows... A conservative reporter from right-leaning CNS News thought he would play gotcha journalist and ask gay Congressman Barney Frank about gay and straight soldiers showering together. Big mistake. Huge. Barney totally eviscerates the guy and exposes him as a fool... That's just a fucking hallucination, replete with imaginary mind-reading abilities. The only thing Frank "exposed" was his inability to handle a question without getting defensive. K. Sorry, but if you think that question was innocent and objective then you're delusional. How you approach a subject is very important. The whole showering thing, like he said, it's a non-issue because it already happens. It's not a by-product of DADT. So why bring it up? Because there are straight people that feel icky about it, and he wanted to try to make Mr. Frank answer for why straight people should have to feel icky. I think that the reporter demonstrated with his line of questioning what side of the debate that he's on, and Barney Frank did nothing wrong by calling him out on that. Besides, those people who have that concern are.. hm.. what's a good word.. I was going to say "are stupid, so who cares what they think" but that probably wouldn't be very constructive.. so about how.. um.. misguided. What'll happen? When the gay guys get in the shower will they be like: "Hey listen, DADT was a political chastity belt. Now that it's gone, I'm buttfucking you right now biatch!" They already know there are gays in the shower with him. It just grosses them out that now they'll know who is attracted to them, because as everybody knows, if a guy is gay, then he's automatically attracted to you, straight guy reading this. quote:
I thought Barney Frank's initial mock reaction was funny. And, I think both Frank and the reporter handled themselves professionally. I don't know why people feel the need to treat politics like a sporting event. People treat it like a sporting event because politicians treat it like a sporting event. Or rather a game of chess. It's all about keeping power, and not about the country anymore. "Yeah, gay people might deserve rights in the military, but who cares, until we get our tax cuts for the wealthiest people, gays can go fly a kite!" Everything has gotten SO petty in the political arena.
