Hiya GT and JustAnotherSub,

Yep, it's been a while (with good reason.)

To be fair, moderations on the forums are just one of several issues, but I'm glad to hear there's been a changing of the guard. Who knows, maybe I'll be 'round just a tad.

And damn, I still need to get a beer with Hup...

I change my profiles periodically to reflect my own changes (I'm consistent in my inconsistency) and first joined the site back in the Spring of 2005 when I was still in Poland.

I came to the boards in the summer of 2007 and I think my first posting was in General BDSM on the 'Reality is..' thread July 9 2007. I think this was posted by my second or third incarnation. I can't remember what my first one was, like I say I was in Poland, there was vodka, and it never quite made it to the boards.

Therefore you're looking at roughly six years on the site and less than four years on the boards.

Heh, thanks GT. It was taken a couple years ago, at a party in SoCal. My two favorite things; great tunes, beautiful wimmens!

Ah... I remember MizSuz and SherriA... fond memories...
MizSuz I think I saw her post once last year...?
(blergh I cannot spell today)

Stephan is that date too...might make him one of the oldest?
And smilezz has been around for a while.

He had another screen name, too, if we're thinking of the same person.  I wouldn't have known it was him until we met in person.  One of the folks who frequents the Gorean forum will have to help Me remember the other name.  I'm not sure which of the names were first.

Voltaire

My first post under this nick was stupid chicken dance.   I was here before that.

I will go see it and post a date time.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_100186/mpage_1/key_stupid%252Cchicken%252Cdance/tm.htm#100186

Hell I didn't even call it that though. It was a more useful title.

No!!! It wasn't Voltaire! I love his work, but Voltare is the name I used (a name yanked out of an Italian-English dictionary to impress some girl, of course!)

I have always thought of it as Voltaire, I still have the link to the Immigrant song.

Cool thread. I didn't realize you could go back that far without a specific thread in mind to search for (and my memory isn't that good). What a walk down memory lane! Saw lots of names that I miss. Looks like I made my first post here in November of 2004. Lots of changes since then!

I've been posting since Feb 2008, I'm still a young pup getting used and abused by all of these old timers.  (I feel so violated......will you violate me some more?)

I don't know if 3 or 4 years makes me a long time poster, but I did find an old thread I contributed to. It's not my first, but it was the first time I ventured into baring my soul a bit. It was during a pretty low point in my life - terrible loneliness, being invisible in the culture where I was living after having been very visible, passionate and alive. It was when I realized that WHERE you are can actually make a huge difference in one's life.

One thing that I wrote in that post was "when you are starving, you will eat dirt." It was a powerful visual for me, and I have often thought of it since. I try not to let my social life starve - no matter where I am.

best,
sunshine

I first started posting here in Jan of 2007 with my old nick lighthearted...seems like yesterday lol.

I do notice a difference in Mod styles, esp. since I skipped out for over a year. Also, the same people are still the posting maniacs that they've always been. I don't think I'll ever reach that status, but here I am anyway
