It looks like claiming your problem as someone else's responsibility and then suing them for it is catching on in the United Kingdom!!

Hardly, we fought because the American colonial aristocracy wanted a 'free and honest money system' i.e., not borrowing currency from the bank of England. We got that for about 150 years until Wilson was duped into signing off on our fed. That began our debt slavery and it working just splendidly.

Oh 1929 was very important as when the fed did nothing. That wanted and caused the last 16,000 private banks to fail. Done deal !!

Are we rich yet ?

Your thread title mentioned a comparison. Where is it?

hlen5 -> RE: Another US vs UK comparison... (1/8/2011 8:47:15 PM)

I meant suing for your own problems seems to be frequent here in the US and now at least one person is doing it in the UK. If not a comparison, a (tongue in cheek) similarity, if you like that better.

Maybe the irony would have been more clear if I had posted this in the humor section?

He can sue all he wants. As long as he doesn't win.

Do you think he has a better case than the people suing McDonalds?

This guy should be glad England was so nice to pay for his $50,000 surgrey.Thats the difference right there.America probaly wouldnt pay for all of that.

Nothing that a fast car and a long rope won't take care of.

Termyn8or -> RE: Another US vs UK comparison... (1/9/2011 2:04:29 AM)

pops why do you have to bring out the radical in me ? I actually have a hanging rope with two nooses attached, one is a thirteen loop. Somebody told it was illegal, so of course it is on display in my kitchen. Problem here is my fast car days are over. I haven't even had a V8 since about 1993. But the Jimmy has a Vortec and it will get rubber. Think it's fast enough ?

actually it goes back to before 1861 when many of the states were formed.  In 1861 congress adjourned sine die, and that ended the organic era and they then reconstituted the government with the "reconstruction" act.  That is when the unlawful, at least in so far as the organic constitution was concerned, 14th amendment was passed.
That created the 14th amendment person "subject to" the jurisdiction thereof.

Literally after the so-called founders died their contract died with them.

If you read the articles of confederation we never were free and never will be.   (at least in the terms WE think of freedom in)  Its all a fabrication and always has been.

well when the king owns you as chattel and you are the beneficiary that make the king trustee dont it?

If the king is trustee then the king gets to pay the bills and is a 3rd party to all this guys ills.

Just like america, but americans havent figgered that out yet because they stil think they are free. LOL

I cannot and do not speak for hunk, only myself.

there is no such thing in law aside from the brit version.

freedom in the brit version is taking the iron shackles off your ankles and putting on the shackles of an oath bond to the king.

no different than here.  In order to own land you had to be a citizen of the united states.  same identical thing only the names have changed to protect the guilty

Ok in a republic for which it stands.....

All you have are individuals.... and a court of individuals to sort out controversies.

That is NOT anarchy and it is a PURE republic.  Individuals that have law in courts of individuals!  (not attached to gubmint democracies)

THAT Is freedom in the way in which you think of it.

as soon as you have 3 people 2 can beat up on one and take away all their stuff!

they vote that you gotta pay taxes and if you do not the "gang bangers" in the democracy completely bowl over all your rights in the republic and take all your property away.

thats the difference between a rebublic and a democracy.

Freedom is in the republic.  slavery is in the democracy.

In a monarchy th eking is sovereign in america the state of the so-called "people" is sovereign, hence we have 50 monarchs.  the voice of the people over rule individual rights as they are not respected by the democracy mob.  who fear shit.

they already borrowed against how many generations of our kids that are now shackled to a huge debt while IDJITS argue leftee rightee issues and hide under the table in fear of terrorists, next it will be aliens.

That is slavery.

Freedom begins and ends here.

It ends at injury to another living man or woman in person or equity.

All these penalties imposed to "pre-empt" injury is all a violation of rights hence loss of freedom.

A good example is in pakistan you can walk into a drug store and buy any damn thing you want.  Here you need PERMISSION from a doctor because even crapping has been commercialized and that overrrides the constitution btw.

The only irony here is your attempt to highlight erroneous behaviour amongst British people, but in so doing, making a glaring error in the very language we bequeathed you. I tell you, it's a good thing I've met so many razor-sharp countrymen of yours in my professional life, they've acted almost like inoculants against your ilk.

Take some English language lessons, girly, before you mistitle another thread. And yes, perhaps you should confine future threads to the 'Humor' section.

For good transatlantic relations, you know. [:D]

What King is this? The last King was replaced in the '50s.

Real0ne -> RE: Another US vs UK comparison... (1/9/2011 4:59:17 AM)

would you feel better if I used the word monarch?  Comeback is but the monarch is only a figurehead
counter comeback is yeh well the monarch transferred interest into the crown (aristocracy club)
counter counter comeback is yah but the monarch has no power

counter counter counter comeback is bs the monarch has power through the crown and the monarch write bills and unless unlawful to a point they would be embarrassed they get passed.

ah nice talking with you!  LOL

barelynangel -> RE: Another US vs UK comparison... (1/9/2011 6:29:37 AM)

Just out of curiosity, i am not sure how the NHS works but here in the US, if you file a lawsuit based on injuries that are paid by medicare or medicaid or an insurance company, and you gain money from a settlement or judgment, you are required by law to pay back those governmental entities and/or companies that have paid out due to your injuries, its called a subrogation claim.

So i wonder based on how much money this guy cost the state and is NHS the same way as medicare/medicaid and insurance companies here, are they able to file subrogation claims?

angel

Moonhead -> RE: Another US vs UK comparison... (1/9/2011 6:42:11 AM)

In fact, when somebody sues the NHS, the local healthcare trust (the administrative body for whichever GP, specialist or hospital treated them) has to find the money. This sort of thing has come close to bankrupting more than one of them in the past, and it'll be interesting to see what effect the brokeback coalition's plan to dump all of the administration onto Doctors' surgeries will have on this.
