I don't think it's at all appropriate to refer to one's D-type, as "girl" or "boy". Hell, I don't think it's appropriate to refer to anyone that way, unless it happens to be YOUR S-type. Yes, I refer to my pet as "boy", or "girl", depending on what I wish to call him at the moment. I'd never dream of referring to another D's sub as such though, unless specifically asked to do so for their own protocol purposes if visiting them or what have you, in their own home. And even then, I'd have some reservations, but, when in rome... If my pet called me "boy"... there would be a "very serious discussion" about such things. If it is a trend going around right now, I predict the next trend to be a major increase of backhands across the yap. I believe the last person to call me "boy" was my aunt, good southern lady, reminding me to mind my manners when I was a youngin. "Boy, you mind yoself, or I swear I will smack you upside the head so hard yo butt fall off." And be damned sure she would do it too.
