I am annoyed by RF's avatar, since (as charming as it is), it doesnt fully depict what a joy it is to have him around here :)

So you're saying you think I should replace it with a picture of a dog turd?

I'm not sure I could go for that :)

GreedyTop -> RE: Do you - infrequently - have a problem with someone's avatar? (1/15/2011 6:01:42 AM)

I was thinking something more like this.. sparkly and shiny, yanno:

Ooh! Shiny! I like!

The only problem I'd have with that avatar is that, every time I saw it, the following would pop into my head:

WOMAN: Well, 'ow did you become king then?

ARTHUR: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king!

DENNIS: Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

ARTHUR: Be quiet!

DENNIS: Well you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

ARTHUR: Shut up!

DENNIS: I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!

ARTHUR: Shut up! Will you shut up!

DENNIS: Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

ARTHUR: Shut up!

DENNIS: Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!

GreedyTop -> RE: Do you - infrequently - have a problem with someone's avatar? (1/15/2011 6:25:55 AM)

well, yeah.. DUH.

(gotta watch that -AGAIN- when I get home from work tonight)

but seriously, it was the best representation I could find of a sword that depicts how I see you.. shiny and sparkly.. :)

Holy Sword! Don't strangle Dennis, Batman! Uh, Arthur!

I can assure you I am neither shiny, nor sparkly :)

I might give it a go though, for a laugh ... I could finally bung a sig in that said "Greedy told me to do it" :)

GreedyTop -> RE: Do you - infrequently - have a problem with someone's avatar? (1/15/2011 6:31:35 AM)

*I* see you as a bright and positive person.. thus the shiny/sparkly thing.

Yes, and thank you, but haven't we already established, several times, that you're a mental? ;)

GreedyTop -> RE: Do you - infrequently - have a problem with someone's avatar? (1/15/2011 6:37:12 AM)

well, yeah. but in a GOOD way ;)

Non homocidal, non suicidal, my mental space is a HAPPY place!!

Oh unequivocally so, of course.

But still a mental ;)

I didn't say it wasn't :)

Anyhoo ... I might give it a bash, I'll see how I feel later*.

*This is what I always say when I'm almost certainly not going to do what someone has suggested, but I don't want them to stalk or murder me ;) **

i voted no before i remembered that there was one, once. i didn't block the person. But, yes, i guess i do occasionally have a problem with someone's avatar.

My ex would not agree with you :)

Doesn't make you wrong, mind.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Do you - infrequently - have a problem with someone's avatar? (1/15/2011 6:50:19 AM)

That is EXACTLY the same thing I thought. HA HA HA.... The Lady of the Lake System of Government... excellent.

So, yes, I"ve been bothered by avatars. When dream of the moon used a butterfly avatar, I called her Alien Walrus Head cause that's what it looked like to me. I gave her hell when she first changed her avatar. I've had some version of a sunflower most of my time here and recently changed to the Asian-esque one I have now. Don't worry, AWH wrote me to give me hell.

I dislike people's nicks sometimes too and refuse to use them. I don't like when people use pix of other people because I think it is false advertising, and they are liars of a sort. I always appreciated that Cali let folks know that the bum in her pic is not her personal yummy bummy. But of course, I'm not a bowl either. Although I will bowl you over with my humor (giggle - I crack me up!)

Maybe not totally on topic, but meh. When have I ever been one to NOT bend the rules?

And by the way, we could make RF sparkly. I see glitter in your future. Yes indeed.

best,
sunshine

Over my dead body! Sparkly is a hard limit for me ;)

too bad, RF.. you've been tagged ;)

(hey, you have a sparkly presence here.. learn to deal  ;)   )

But you're okay with subtle genitalia?
