Seems sad we have to keep pointing this stuff out...

Indeed. But, since you make it necessary...

The gee-whiz graph at the link you cite shows temperatures from 1880 to the present. Here's one for the past thousand years:

Compiled by R. S. Bradley and J. A. Eddy based on J. T. Houghton et al., Climate Change: The IPCC Assessment, Cambridge UniversityPress, Cambridge, 1990 and published in EarthQuest, vol 5, no 1, 1991

Odd that temperatures today are not even as warm as they were during medieval times, eh? But let's go back further:

Compiled by R.S. Bradley and J.A. Eddy based on J.T. Houghton et al., Climate Change: The IPCC Assessment, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1990 and published in EarthQuest, vol 5, no 1, 1991

Whoa! Who knew they had SUVs and coal-fired power plants back in the Holocene!

Amazing shit, eh? Seems sad we have to keep pointing this stuff out.

Would have to get the raw data.

Not to let you get away with your attempted hijack, Ken, but wasn't keeping that raw data from independent review one of the subjects of those emails? Wasn't a lot of it actually "thrown away?"

Actually the scientists simply weren't providing it to well known denialists. I'm sure the raw data is still available since it is maintained by NOAA amongst others.

It's cool. You don't want to give us a percentage of the climate history that we have records for, against how much history there really is, that's your choice. It isn't like you have any credibility left to lose anyway.

We actually have climate data for far more time than we have history (assuming you meant history in teh history/pre history manner) for. Tree ring data goes back at least 10k years and ice cores are more than that. So 100+%.

data is US only. uterly useless for discussions of global climate.

Notice anything different? And here's one for the past one thousand years:

Compiled by R. S. Bradley and J. A. Eddy based on J. T. Houghton et al., Climate Change: The IPCC Assessment, Cambridge UniversityPress, Cambridge, 1990 and published in EarthQuest, vol 5, no 1, 1991

20 year old data. leaves out the past 20 years (the two decades where AGW data became incontravertible).

Right, I caught that after posting and edited it out.

The rest of your comments are nonsense. Leaving out the last 20 years doesn't change the fact that the data demonstrates that climate warming occurs independently of CO2. If you have newer data showing that either the medieval and Holocene warm periods didn't occur, or that hitherto unknown heavy industry existed during those times, I'd be delighted to see it.

It is axiomatic that failed climate models are worthless. Not so long ago, global warmers were whining about their grand-children never seeing snow and the devatation of the Eastern US by killer hurricanes due to warming seas. Instead, here we are: we're buried up to our arse in the white stuff, and the East and Gulf Coasts of the US are still just fine thank you.

Piers Corbyn, on the other hand, has demonstrated that climate change is driven by the sun with the interaction of the moon. His predictions have racked up an 86% success rate, including the historic Russian heat wave, the flooding in Pakistan, and the current extreme cold and blizzard conditions afflicting the US, Britain, and northern Europe.

Success talks, bullshit walks. Get used to it.

Kirata, if we could get *President Obama* to tell the "global warmers" that man made "global warming" doesn't exist do you really think they'd listen to him?
Ever tried to have a two-way conversation with a "9-11 Truther?"

Who said warming only occurs when CO2 goes up?

As to Corbyn, you have been taken in by a charlatan. He doesn't forecast details but instead forecasts vague phrases. This is standard prophecy and mind reader bullshit.

Funny, *now* DomKen wants to "discuss the e-mails."

Aren't you the same fellow who was whining about "old data" a minute ago? Do you realize those clips are from 1998 and 1999? And if you actually read the Independent article, Corbyn had commercial clients forking over good money for his forecasts even back then, before he tweaked his methods to be able to produce the results we see today.

Weather Action November 2010 "vague phrases" Winter Forecast:

Winter Dec to Feb inclusive in Britain and Europe will be exceptionally cold and snowy – like hell frozen over at times - with much of England, Germany, Benelux and N France suffering one of the coldest winters for over 100 years. It is expected that two of the three months Dec, Jan & Feb are likely to be in the three coldest for a 100 years (eg using Central England Temperatures).

By contrast, the November 2010 "scientific" UK Met Office predicted above average Winter temperatures in Britain:

And the November 2010 "scientific" IRI Multi-Model forecast also predicted a warm British Winter this year:

IOW he's got lucky this year. Let's examine his 2008 predictions. Where he predicted temps of -17C in the English Midlands in January. The month was very mild. Or his prediction of 130 mph winds in England in the last week of November 2007 which turned out to have entirely seasonal weather with no extreme hurricane force wind storms. Or the fact that he has retaliated against anyone who dares cricise him or his predictions.

This is the standard of the psychics who talk to the dead or predict the future based on spirits. They're wrong more than they're right but anytime they're right they trumpet the fact and try and silence anyone who dares point out all the times they were wrong.

Peacefulplace, and thousands of scientists disagree with it. Wouldn't it be "hubristic" for "laymen" to say that "global warming" *does* exist? Look at Al Gore, he's made hundred$ of millions from it and he has a "degree" in "Theology" or whatever the hell it is!

I want a list of these "scientists" to whom you refer. I suppose these are the ones who also believe in "intelligent design."

Do not make this about Al Gore and his politics. I knew of this alarming phenomenon long before Gore's movie (which I actually found rather dull) was released. He did not manufacture it. He simply used his fame to draw attention to it.

Global warming is real, and those who try to make it a political issue do so at humanity's peril.

As near as anyone can tell Gore has made nothing off AGW. He donates all proceeds from speeches and the like to charity.

This has been disproven so many times on this board its ridiculous. NO ONE WITH HALF A FUCKING BRAIN BELIEVES THIS SHIT ANYMORE.

You're saying he doesn't donate his speaking fees? Or will this be some halk baked assertion that he isn't allowed to invest his money where ever he sees fit?

He can invest money wherever he wants to. Your claim was that he has made nothing from AGW. Bullshit.

I think that the whole problem of global warming will become mute (that's the modern spelling, right? ) since in a very short time industrialized civilization will collapse because the oil will run out.
