You have not got it straight. Burning fossil fuels does put massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere.

So what? The higher carbon dioxide content will stimulate plant growth, resulting in better and faster crops and increasing the number of animals that live on the plant growth.

You have not got that straight. The ice has been retreating for thousands of years, without all of that added carbon dioxide. Status: offline 		Rule, You failed chemistry didnt you? You also seem have no clue about atmospheric physics and meterology.

Increased CO2 in the atmosphere leads to a very slight increase in plant growth.
We wont get better and faster crops because the growth rate of plants under optimal conditions is genetically determined.
The problem is that the major areas of plant growth on the planet (rain forests) are being cut at a rate that, unless it slows, will eliminate them within 2 generations
The increase in plant growth can't soak up the carbon because if, as you said, animals eat the plants, it gets released back into the atmosphere.
As for increased temperatures making the Sahara bloom again, that is a bunch of crap.

Increased temps will increase the amount of water the atmosphere can hold without raining and actually do the opposite and increase worldwide desertification.

You are right about the ice retreating for thousands of years. But, the ice is retreating at a faster rate than at any time since the last ice age.

Note: I'm not pointing to causality here but there IS a strong correlation.

And there are also periods of time when increases in CO2 were strongly correlated to PRIOR increases in temperature. BFD.

The Roman empire is a classic and well documented example of a political unit that encompassed a huge portion of the known world at the time and utterly collapsed. There are lessons to be learned there.
