Of course there has been no right wing violence...

That's quite a collection, I admit. White supremacists, Holocaust deniers, neo-Nazis, a variety of felons, one religious fanatic, one anti-Capitalist who was angry at the Catholic Church among other things, a crazy grump ("he hated everything"), and "a great guy" who went off the rails for reasons nobody seems to know. But unh... aren't you the fellow who always rants about biassed sources? Looks to me like you lifted that little list, name by name, from the Insurrectionist Timeline page of the oh-so-centrist Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

If you will show me where I said, or even remotely implied, that they "didn't happen," I'll be happy to correct that impression. What I do question is whether or not it is reasonable to burden the "left" versus "right" political debate by labelling every disturbed individual, crazy anarchist, neo-Nazi white supremacist, and felon pissed off at the government for the inconvenience they pose to his activities, as an example of the latter.

Are you typing one-handed?

I'm just asking... not saying anything of the sort.
It's just a question... simple.

You are welcome to independently research each crime. Conveniently enough each entry in the timeline links to a news article about the criminal in question.

Let's examine one person in particular because it vivdly demonstrates the danger posed by right wing hate media, Byron Williams. He was arrested after exchanging 12 minutes of gunfire with the California Highway Patrol while on his way to attack the ACLU and Tides Foundation. Now who has ever even heard of the Tides Foundation? I'm pretty knowledgeable about groups on both sides of the political divide and I'd never heard of it. Isn't it curious that an ex bank robber would want to attack the ACLU and the Tides Foundation? Is it at all disturbing that both groups feature prominently in Glenn Beck's frequent ravings about left wing conspiracies to take over the world?

Lucylastic -> RE: Tucson and the Media (1/17/2011 6:10:32 PM)

Can you just make your point? or is this answering a question with an question?
I can do this all damn day, Ive had 3 kids, playing silly games, Ive seen em all.
BTW I only have one hand

Let's examine one person in particular...

Let's examine one person in particular, the "right-wing" nut called Joe Stack, whose suicide note ended with:

The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

James Patock was a crazy grump: a neighbor said, "he hated the President, he hated everything!"
Patrick Sharp, nobody appears to know why he went off the rails, described as "a great guy."
Joshua Cartwright shot police trying to arrest him for a domestic abuse charge.
Von Brunn, Turner, Ortiz, Logan, and Mcleod were neo-Nazis.

I submit that you are an exemplar of the problem we (all) have with the level of political debate in this country.

Actually, this is a link I found from FB...

A Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that the top US Federal Judge for the State of Arizona was assassinated barely 72-hours after he made a critical ruling against the Obama administrations plan to begin the confiscation of their citizen’s private retirement and banking accounts in order to stave off their nations imminent economic collapse, and after having the US Marshals protecting him removed.

and goes on to say.......

Interesting to note about the assassination of Judge Roll is that it is being blamed on a “lone gunman” said to be mentally unstable (aren’t they all) said directed at a US Congresswoman named Gabrielle Giffords, who survived this mass killing, and that killed at least 5 other innocent people, including a 9-year-old girl named Christina Taylor Green “curiously” born on September 11, 2001 (9/11).

I thought sure one of our conspiracy lovers would have found this one, or posted it, by now.

*Editted to add, I was posting in response to some KenDckey found in his facebooking travels (since this post seems to come out of nowhere in reply to the posts above)  [sm=smile.gif]

Youre initial assessment was correct. There is already a conspiracy thread about it.. Still on the first page I think.

I also have to wonder why this crazy person who we are told could have went on a rampage against anyone happened to choose
a political event to do so.  He could have just wandered into the Safeway and had a wide range of targets.

You're seeing the political world through eyes that are grounded in reality, RML. (Don't get excited about that, because you still get it wrong most of the time, anyway) God only knows what sort of nightmare construct Loughner was working from, but I don't see grammar reform in the platform, anywhere, on any ticket.

He went to Gifford's event because she represented something in his little hell, not because she was symbolic of something that makes sense to the rest of us.

It was posted before on another thread I believe.

But the judge's appearance at the event was a last-minute decision, so the shooter would have had no idea he would be there.

It is highly unlikely he was the intended target.

<evasion deleted>

So I take it you admit that Byron Williams demonstrates that right wing hate media is a danger.

So let's take another example, Jim Adkisson. Adkisson openly proclaimed that his killing of 2 people at a xhurxh was symbolic of his desire to kill every Democrat in the US House and Senate as well as all the people in Bernard Goldberg's book. When his home was searched after his arrest books by Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Bill O'reilly were found.

This is part of what he released the day after being sentenced to life in prison
quote:

Know this if nothing else: This was a hate crime. I hate the damn left-wing liberals. There is a vast left-wing conspiracy in this country & these liberals are working together to attack every decent & honorable institution in the nation, trying to turn this country into a communist state. Shame on them....

This was a symbolic killing. Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the Senate & House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg's book. I'd like to kill everyone in the mainstream media. But I know those people were inaccessible to me. I couldn't get to the generals & high ranking officers of the Marxist movement so I went after the foot soldiers, the chickenshit liberals that vote in these traitorous people. Someone had to get the ball rolling. I volunteered. I hope others do the same. It's the only way we can rid America of this cancerous pestilence.

I thought I'd do something good for this Country Kill Democrats til the cops kill me....Liberals are a pest like termites. Millions of them Each little bite contributes to the downfall of this great nation. The only way we can rid ourselves of this evil is to kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather. I'd like to encourage other like minded people to do what I've done. If life aint worth living anymore don't just kill yourself. do something for your Country before you go. Go Kill Liberals.

People that commit crimes are responsible for their actions. Not other people. What the hell is wrong with those that want to blame others?

The "progressives ten year history of hate" - a primer: http://thurly.net/8qn

This is a must read catalogue of the hard left (you know, democrats) history of hate. All they want to do is shut up any questioning of them. As for me, I say let them speak! I love the Internet and You Tube. See stupid leftists say and do stupid things! See, leftists like the first amendment for THEMSELVES; not so crazy about it for others.

Want to blame others? hmmm hows this for just a couple of blaming lefties.... pot calling the kettle grimy arse?
you think you are funny, but you arent
