Not sure it speaks to actual stupidity as much as the (intendedly obvious) stupidity of the character he's playing. His presentation is so tier-1 troll, that it's actually odd to find people rallying against it with any serious degree of tone. From a sociological perspective, it casts an interesting light on how people respond to easy targets, based on how much web-savvy they think they've accumulated (and how much leeway they think it gives them to be fools, essentially). Makes one wonder if the amount of such trolling that the site receives is not actually proportional to the amount of (veteran) posters that rally against the simpler offerings with ire or aloof presumptuousness (and not necessarily trolls like these, but seemingly honest questions which suffer the flaw of being too "duh" to merit an honest, non-insulting response).
