This may be so in that the witnesses are not high level officials. It is clear that the Republican party is not interested in the matter. I took a look at the article briefly. There is mention of a hospital generated long form being missing. I did a keyword search of the forum page and found no mention of long form. Anyway, looking at the clerk's photo, the word skin head comes to mind which suggests that he might have an ax to grind. This, however, is purely speculative on my part.

In the words of Jesse Ventura (I'm paraphrasing him), the government manages to encourage conspiracy theories by acting strangely. I am inclined to believe that the government handled the matter poorly and is getting what it deserves for having botched things so badly. Because we live in a democracy it should take these things seriously, but what we find is sloppiness and an unwillingness to be forth coming. It might be what they are hiding is a system that has run amuck for decades and now they are under the lime light and are hiding behind laws to protect them.

There is something called transparency. All the while the government has been actively depriving its citizens of privacy it says that the right to privacy is an absolute. 99% of the world can know something, but so long as 1% remains in the dark, it's a secret (legal fictions such as these). This is an interesting legal matter since it puts right to privacy in direct conflict with transparency and the right of the people to know.

Sounds like good news to me, but they should have done this much earlier and it still doesn't mean they will have answered all the pertinent questions.
