In fairness, the brothers Coen have been dragging themselves down lately. Despite some admirable acting performances I thought True Grit fell a bit flat. What might be interesting is if next time around the Coen Bros did a Wes Anderson script and vice versa. Might bring them all out of their funks and also confuse Bill Murray.

I'll also give you that some (not all or most) folks come onto CM with a preconceived idea that is how a male submissive is 'supposed to' act. How often are you seeing this in real life? I know earlier you don't stand by the same statement in F/m dynamics where someone is owned, so I'm really trying to determine where you are seeing it. I guess what put the bee in my bonnet is having attended an event a couple of weeks ago, at which the subbie dudes mostly stood around sullenly and complained into their drinks about how either nobody was talking to them or how there was nobody worth talking to (an outright lie, I have high standards and there were a number of women who were very intriguing). It wouldn't have been such an issue, but when the woman I attended with left to mingle and I had to do the same, I kept finding myself in the company of dudes behaving like self-loathing schmucks who were too afraid to put anything on the line. When any of them did approach a woman they behaved slavishly, simpering like cartoon characters approaching a scary cartoon king. It's behavior I've seen at several other private events and also the last time I was at a club and it just made me feel like there is an epidemic of wimpish, self-defeating behaviour amongst the subbie dudes. Online I've also noticed this behavior but I just assume all personality flaws are magnified and exacerbated online. It was really seeing the behavior in public that made me think "Wow. There are a lot of sub dudes out there (a majority in my recent experience) who act like scared little boys in search of mommies."
