You know I had wondered about this as well. It feels almost as if the wimpy sub dude archetype is an example of subbie type dudes trying to impose their own fantasy lives (derived from porn and a kind of twisted through-the-looking-glass misogyny posing as Woman Worship) onto the women they'd like to become involved with. Which is, in a sense, an example of the wimpy subbie archetype really trying to top from the bottom.
