hausboy -> RE: Why are sub dudes such pussies? (2/1/2011 5:04:21 PM)

The hausboy would like to respond to The Dude. Now that I've had my fun poking with a stick, I would like to give an actual response to the point he brought up. And it's timely too. After going to parties for years by myself, but knowing that I was going to meet my various Dommes/tops there .... and then once I was with my spouse/Domme, we'd go to all the parties together.....I went to my first event by myself two nights ago, solo, as a single male sub. Completely new experience for me. It was Femme/Domme party--so all Dommes with male subs, some a part of a couple, some solo like me. Dude's observations are not dramatically far off. I'll give the positive first--I saw and met some wonderful, wonderful male subs, who were in the majority. Great Dommes and fantastic subs. But then, there were just a few (minority) that fit the sordid description that the Dude started this whole tempest-in-a-fishbowl with. I was amazed--here was a room full of Dommes....and yet those aforementioned subs seemed at a loss. They stood, awkwardly staring at the women....waiting....and waiting. I took the far corner opposite them--any sub will tell you--it's finding that balance between being close enough to attend to any need/request, but far away enough to not be hovering, obtrusive and be generally there but "invisible". She finishes her diet Coke....remove the empty can, replace it with a fresh one and refill her glass! She puts her dirty plate down, replace it with a fresh one....or ask her if she'd like anything else... something drops? pick it up.....she's busy beating the crap out of her sub....so stand far enough away that you're not in the scene, but within eyeshot of her with 2 bottles of water (one for her, one for the boy) It's not that hard. The other boys were too busy getting naked and making puppy dog eyes... but the Head Boy was mopping up water in a back room while I and another boy headed into the kitchen after serving dinner and tackled the dishes together. And the others looked at us, puzzled.... as if to say: "why are you guys working when there's women in the next room with canes and crops?" So there's the intent perhaps, of the original post. I was baffled that there would be subs who were so completely out of touch with why we were there--yes, getting the business end of the cane was part of it--but the whole concept of serving the Dommes seemed completely lost on them. Even though the "house" guidelines made it clear what the dynamics of the evening were. so essentially, it left me asking Dude's question. just not out loud.[;)]
