UFR Technically a driver's license is a contract. you are tested, and once proven proficient, they agree to let you enter into the contract with them. In doing so you agree to abide by the rules of the road, as set forth by statute. When you are in breach of that contract they can declare it null and void. If you don't like the terms you have options. One is to walk, and another is to just do what you damn well please - drive anyway. If you don't drive like an asshole you can get away with it for decades. If you've never had a license, you cannot be convicted of DUS (under suspension), at least in Ohio. You can plea to it in a deal, but they cannot convict you, because in the simplest terms, there was nothing to suspend. So believe it or not, in some ways it is best to NEVER get one in the first place. DUS is a first degree misdemeanor in many states, while simply not having a license has alot lower limits on sentencing. You choose, contraxct and be alright or don't. For a time in life I had insurnce without a license, but it is about impossible to get now. Maybe from Lloyd's Of London or somewhere, but not generally. Personal liability without driving exclusions can be had, but it costs. The reasons are obvious. But now they have fines and sentences imposed for not having insurance. The last five times I've been stopped, I was not charged with not having insurance. That is because the contract does not exist. In fact there are a few other things. But that is neither here nor there. The gist of the whole thing is this, they did this stance, like a kata(sp) in martial arts, to garner support from people who are sick of government up their ass all the time. It was all for show. It means nothing. Anyone who understands the situation knows that, but the ignorant are many, and they can vote. It really is that simple. T^T
