luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 12:31:20 PM)

Is there anyone who is screaming (asserting/declaring) that Bush was great?

kdsub -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 12:34:59 PM)

Just a little hijack… I don’t think there was ever a doubt there would be a continuation of the fight on terror. The difference I think is how the war will be fought.

Other than the predator bombings in Pakistan the war is being fought differently.

Just me but I think Bushes failing was the invasion of Iraq not pursuing the war in Afghanistan. I think many in America agreed. It didn’t help when the stories of deceit came out along with torture and the deterioration our civil liberties.

If anyone thinks America is loosing its resolve in fighting terror they would be mistaken.

It having the one sylable word you made up would go a long way Moon.

But you made up the "whole".

No, I'm afraid Poopey made up the whole. His OP implies that the halfwits in the clip he'd found were speaking for the whole of the left. He has a longstanding tendency to do this which (as I've stated) is little short of hilarious when taken together with his constant whining about being an "independant moderate".

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 1:51:43 PM)

Kd, there was a massive movement on the left declaring that Terror was a criminal issue not a military one.

you can pretend that didn't happen if you want.

Common criminals and Due Process was the refrain.

The Micheal Moore left was opposed to the war in Afghanistan.

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 1:53:33 PM)

"poopey" thats so cute Moon.

thanks for proving my point so well.

And for displaying your problems with reading comprehension

you can pretend that Popeye said somehting. And call him names.

But it doesn't change that you are lying.

God, where do you start with this guy?
I'm an *Independant* politically. And I hold no political partie's philosophy in any esteem.
So, "liberal, moderate or conservative," eh? That's all the choices we get? And just WHO decided that?
This thread was not supposed to be about me but about the people in the video. Would you care to tell us what your "liberal" brethren were saying? You know, a little translation as it were? They're the subject of this thread, not me.

Popeye, I didn't even post on this thread, and was not planning to, until you started whining that everyone was making the thread about you and specifically mentioned my name.

How I somwehow became involved in a thread that I had not posted on only you can explain.

You brought me into it on that basis and now you are complaiing that the thread is not about you?

As far as holding no political party's philosophy in any esteem, your posting history suggests otherwise.

Rule, you're good at attacking and twisting but you're not very good at answering questions.

Sheesh! What a collection! To all you people on the left, these are your brothers and sisters!
...
How many of this troop of goons do you think believes in "global warming?" Ninety percent? Ninety eight percent?
...

Poopey didn't say any of this in his OP then?

It's pretty clear who's the one lying here, puppydawg...

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 2:03:54 PM)

that is what he said.

"whole" ain't there.

Global warming? nothi do to with your attacks at all.

They are your brothers and sisters on the left.

Ii know that upsets you, but it is the fact.

also your brother is not you. But is related to you. Can you comprehend that?

Right? You can make upstuff and act indignant about it. Its your typical thing.

Have fun.

Your little friend is presenting the whole of the left as a homogenous mass with identical beliefs, rather than characterising the protesters as a lsmall group of extremists. His OP and the title he's chosen for the thread (which, you'll note, refers to "the left" not "a faction of leftists") is an attempt to substitute the specific for the general. I'm not making anything up here: his approach really is that simplistic and reductive.

So yes, he is arguing that these idiots are speaking for the whole of the left. Sorry, but those are the facts.

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 2:26:24 PM)

moon, your not even smart enough to make up your own insults. puppydawg is RML's schtick. that is why you will allways be a lessor troll.

I already said, you can pretend whatever you want and get indignant about it.

You have my permission.

Have fun.

you still haven't grasped what a fact is. probably never will at your age.

popeye1250 -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 2:40:48 PM)

"So what do you want to happen to Clarence Thomas after we impeach him?"
"BAD things!"

I disagree.

We've won a war in Iraq before.

Nobody's ever won a war in Afghanistan.

So because no one has won before... I guess that means we should not defend ourselves? No… Afghanistan is ripe for change... they have tasted a little freedom and I think they are afraid but will never go back to the Taliban’s of this world.

Who besides the US has ever fought in their country for their freedom...even if only a result of our own purposes.

But this is for another thread I guess.

Ironically enough, the Soviets were the ones to introduce women's equality to Afghanistan.

We financed groups of Islamic mujahideen opposed to the Soviet invasion so we could bankrupt the Soviets (it worked) and after years of in-fighting after the Soviet withdrawal, one of the more radical groups of mujahideen known as the Taliban managed to secure power.

While we might feel guilt and want to make things right, it's not a war we're going to win.

Popeye, if you don't want to face the heat then leave me the fuck out of your comments on threads that I did not post on.

You drew me into this so stop pissing and moaning like an old woman.

I would have been very happy to let this ridiculous thread pass by without posting on it.

I have to admit, the more I read about the Democrats past, the more digusted I am.It was the Democrats who were against ending slavery and it was the Democrats who were all for the old "Jim Crow" laws.I wonder when the tide started to change. When was it that the Democrats became the party of progress and the Republicans became the biggots? It is funny how a few decades can literally change things.

Charles6682 -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/7/2011 3:58:50 AM)

Lets be clear about something. If the far right Teabaggers keep pushing moderate Americans to the point of insanity,America will look just like Egypt. You can take that to the bank!

That's true, but a less warlike occupation has more or less worked there in the past. The British Empire's approach was to fund those of the local warlords who were willing to tow the line and that was a bit more effective at keeping the lid on (at least most of the time) than a series of inconclusive dust ups with people who had guerilla warfare down pat long before anybody in Indochina started mixing together Sun Tzu and Mao.

As for the taliban, they aren't all erstwhile mujahadim. A lot of the current crop are idiots who left Pakistan because there wasn't enough sharia law there to suit them...

Not anymore.

When his approval ratings dropped to the 25%-30% range before the 2008 election he suddenly went from being a conservative hero to a RINO.

But it was funny watching all the people on here who sang his praises abandon him without a second thought.
