No Popeye, the reason it was made about you is your continuing charade of being a moderate, unbiased, Independent.

But considering I only just entered this thread, I"m not sure why you decided to direct that at me.

Because of your continuing charade of being a moderate, unbiased, liberal.

Well Popeye, let's take a look at this.

Saying I am a liberal, by definition means I'm am biased toward liberal viewpoints.  I've never said otherwise.  I have also never said I was a moderate liberal.  Primarily because I have always thought it to be a meaningless term coined by the media.  Either you are a liberal, a conservative, or a moderate.

You, on the other hand, have repeatedly referred to yourself as a moderate, which implies that you hold no bias toward conservatives or liberals.  Yet, everything you say falls along the same line as your original post in this thread.

God, where do you start with this guy?
I'm an *Independant* politically. And I hold no political partie's philosophy in any esteem.
So, "liberal, moderate or conservative," eh? That's all the choices we get? And just WHO decided that?
This thread was not supposed to be about me but about the people in the video. Would you care to tell us what your "liberal" brethren were saying? You know, a little translation as it were? They're the subject of this thread, not me.

I am talking about the thread and people in its comments.

You are in favor of comments like RML's and Lucy ect?

What the hell are you talking about? Rule didn't say a word until you felt compelled to alert him to what a moron you think he is, and as for Lucy - if Popeye doesn't like the "voices in your head" remark, that's tough shit. He's a big boy. He started another one of his childish bait threads, crowing about what a bunch or morons liberals are, and a couple of liberals rose to the bait and insulted him back. Boo fucking hoo. If you, uh... "trolls" don't have the balls for a fight, don't pick them in the first place. Bunch of fucking crybabies.

Popeye, I didn't even post on this thread, and was not planning to, until you started whining that everyone was making the thread about you and specifically mentioned my name.

How I somwehow became involved in a thread that I had not posted on only you can explain.

You brought me into it on that basis and now you are complaiing that the thread is not about you?

As far as holding no political party's philosophy in any esteem, your posting history suggests otherwise.

kdsub -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 8:36:11 AM)

I do understand Popeye…He is himself and in his view unbiased and true to his beliefs. He has every right to claim he is independent of a particular party. It is others classifying him…but of course that is their right as well...he sure does it to others...lol

Personally I couldn’t care less what political party others assign to me I just say what I feel from my heart and mind and let my words describe me.

I think Popeye does the same. I understand his frustration when rather than discussing his thinking, right or wrong, many spend hours trying to nail him to a party platform. Then rather than stay on the subject at hand they head off in tangents ranting about the tea party and Republican antics that have nothing to do with his posts.

Does it really make a difference if other groups have acted in the same if opposing way as the people in the video? Is it a defense to say well this group or that did this or that so it makes this videos content irrelevant. Isn’t it enough to discuss the radicalism of this video and not point out others as justification?

Damn sorry... I had a hard time getting that out without sounding like gobbledygook.

Butch

I'd feel a bit more sympathetic about that if it wasn't self inflicted.

Not to mention the fact that Poopey doesn't have a leg to stand when it comes to complaints about this (or any other) thread drifting off topic when he makes a point of ignoring any comment or criticism anybody has to make about his points. If he isn't willing to debate stuff, he shouldn't be starting threads with posts that seem to have been deliberately dreamed up to try to start an argument, should he?

(And that's without even getting started on the sheer size of the brush he uses to tar all leftists, and how doing so makes the histrionic shitfits he throws when anybody accuses him of leaning to the right hilariously hypocritical...)

kdsub -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 9:21:09 AM)

You are certainly right...but isn't it something like the chicken and the egg? I mean often posts are tit for tat...each retaliating for past transgressions without remembering who started it.

Butch

Moonhead -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 9:30:24 AM)

You miss my point: he's starting threads with posts that are calculated to cause an argument, then turning around and bleating about people picking on him. That isn't six of one and half a dozen of the other, it's just plain pathetic.

kdsub -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 9:42:52 AM)

I can't agree with you here... We need to know about this radical thinking. I have seen many many posts on the radical thinking of the tea party and Republican party why is it any different to point out the same for the opposing view? Is it no less relevant?

You, and others, are spending too much time analyzing and criticizing the character of the messenger rather than the message… in my view anyway.

Butch

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 10:27:51 AM)

thats because if we discuss the message, they lose.

And know it.

Sanity -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 10:45:52 AM)

In the case of most of them, I honestly do not believe that they are capable of discussing issues and ideas, and that these petty personal attacks are the very best they can mentally muster.

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 11:08:56 AM)

I disagree, at least 2/3 of them are functioning.

After Obama got elected, and continued the War on Terror, and most important policies the same, they lost any ability to argue.

In the Lead up to the election, it was nonstop "Bush is bad morally" because he is a war criminal/fascist/ hater. Now Obama does the exact same, yet he is not morally bad.

The only conclusion is that bush was correct in stratagey or Obama is an evil scumba. realone and PA are correct, it is a 2 headed beast and a game to occupy the dim.

Gitmo?!?!

Drone attacks?!?!

Hello?

Silencing the conversation is all they have.

Really? So how many rebuttals from the rightists have we seen of the fact that Poopey has claimed that a group of disgruntled anticapitalists speak for the whole of the left? It's news to me that any of your little circle jerk* have even mentioned that.

*(Notorious right leaning acapella group The Soggy Biscuit Boys?)

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 11:34:04 AM)

where except in your delusions did he say that moon?

Sanity you may be right about this one.

It is incapable of not changing what is said to go off on self righteous rants.

Its lying about facts from the begining of the thread for God's sakes.

Doubt it even has a clue as to what a fact is.

Sanity -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 11:41:38 AM)

In fairness popeye did write in his op, "Oh yeah, the left..... "marches to a differant drummer" alright! "Your Left, your Left, your left, left, left!"" but that is largely being proved out here in thread after thread. Sure, without naming names some of them think critically but you are being extremely generous in the percentages, in my opinion.

In his OP: "To all you people on the left, these are your brothers and sisters."

You'll also note that his chosen thread title is "Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!!" not "Extremist nuts talk drivel at anticapitalist protest."

That simple enough for you to follow, or do I have to put it in words of one syllable for you?

luckydawg -> RE: Looks like the left wants an "Egypt" in the U.S.!!! (2/6/2011 12:05:55 PM)

It having the one sylable word you made up would go a long way Moon.

But you made up the "whole".

I agree with you here.

And equally, those who scream that Obama is bad and Bush was great are just as silly as the opposite.
