I'm just ornery, hey are you my long lost brother?[;)]

Smythe -> RE: Has the Internet killed the True values of BDSM (5/4/2006 8:07:41 PM)

The internet gives a fighting chance to ugly people, but it really penalizes the bad spellers. So on balance, I would have to say that the impact has been neutral.

Then I guess it's ideal for elephants with impeccable spelling.

look at the end result, and you see what I mean.

Why undergo an emotional implosion every 6 months to a year..over WHAT?

Some fantasy you created in your head?

Check the boards-and see how right I am on this one.

Steffie?

You read the boards here?

How can you NOT see this?

A tricky proposition. While the elephant may be a stellar speller, it is difficult for him to demonstrate his skill due to the fact that he always strikes several keys at once.

It's probably just getting lost in the constant deluge of people who have been here for a day or two who whine and complain endlessly about how horrible things here are.

Just a thought.

Kidless -> RE: Has the Internet killed the True values of BDSM (5/4/2006 9:00:50 PM)

heck stef, I been on boards like bcom for ages lookin at this whiney crap from subs and Doms.

Iv'e never seen so much drama over so little in my entire life- it's like watching peyton place with whips and chains.

Doms having ego complexes and melt downs at "topping from the bottom" (which means they want something they have to jump though hoops to get to begin with, than have a hissy fit the fisrt time the girl tells em to screw off)

Subs flowing down gutters in little rivulets of goo, because thier top missed the ten pm phone call.........and it means he's taking the collar back..........

What a bunch of horse shit.

"And the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round..............."[;)]

Obviously, the "true values" are the ones you espouse. Opposing values must be false, inferior.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Has the Internet killed the True values of BDSM (5/5/2006 1:58:47 AM)

I thought True Value was the name of a hardware store.

Nobody attacked him because he "was there"...at least I didn't and I don't think most of the others did as well. I don't think this guy got any closer than driving by a leather bar and wacking off in his car before driving home to the wife and kids.  His little "you should fuck me because I come from the old days" routine is tiresome.

gee this reminds of somebody i know.....

Where is the honor and integrity to walking into a new place/bar, etc. and proclaiming we all suck because we weren't doing this 35+ years ago?  Where is the modesty?  Where is any sort of worthwhile virtue in what he did?

wow if you changed that 35 to a 25 i remember now exactly where i heard this crap before

Did he come in and share this vast font of knowledge and experience he must "oh so shirley" possess?  Did he offer us his deep insight based on decades of play?  Nope, he just launched into a pathetic little screed.

okay the one i heard from you was pathetic but it took forever

having met you i can say that is the only way you would get anybody in your collar, but if it works for you.....

CrappyDom -> RE: Has the Internet killed the True values of BDSM (5/5/2006 8:18:29 AM)

If you had accused me of breaking your heart or of being an insufferable ass I might have spent time wondering who you might be.  Since you accuse me of draping myself in that most tattered of cloths, "old guard/ancient knowledge/etc I know you are confusing me with someone else as that line of BS is one of the few I deeply deeply despise.

Since the locals in the scene in Sacramento know exactly who I am, you can check with them if you know any of them.  I am curious how long ago you met this dominate with the plastic Old Guard badge since I have been out of the scene almost long enough to have made you jailbait.

However, if you are still convinced I am a raving lunatic who must be stopped, contact the leaders of Sacramento Power Exchange or the owners of the local public playspace http://www.sindulgences.com/ relate your story of how you were wronged since they should know regardless of whether it was me or another.  It would be nice, although I doubt it will occur, that you come back and post an apology.

I was wondering what that little drama was about too-some people's children.

That then would justify full-throated attacks on any individual who does not rise to one's standard of "clearly defined...like-mindedness?" I don't suggest you are doing that here. I do suggest that attack, rather than debate, happens far too often for comfort.  If people mean to share a means of communication, they need to learn to share the space, and do it without fatuous implications that the values of  anyone who disputes the like-minded (Dare we read, pure-minded?) must necessarily be reprehensible.

There are some, you see, who don't find it so disagreeable to "paddle through" contrary opinions that they must close off discussion to anyone except those with whom they already agree. Must be another instance of that awful open-mindedness.

I'm obliged for having one of my points so well illustrated.

(Surprise! Once in a blue moon I have time to pick up on a thread.)

Ah, but it was not implied that anyone who disputes the views of a subgroup are viewed as reprehensible. There are MANY views out there. Some of them I agree with. Others I do not. And some I find reprehensible. There ARE people in this "lifestyle" who have no qualms about partaking in abuse, rape, snuff, and many things I'm not even allowed to mention here. They have simply learned to keep their mouths shut (most of the time) when using certain mediums. Yes, I will loudly and clearly state that I find those people reprehensible, and don't want them in my social circle. If you want to hang out with them in the name of open-mindedness and acceptance, feel free. As I've said before, my morals and ethics are not in place to be bent by popular demand.
