Nuke proof umbrellas?
I didn't realise we were talking about Dungeons and Dragons not politics...

Cleric orders Gaddafi killed

nfluential Muslim cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi has issued a fatwa that any Libyan soldier who can shoot dead embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi should do so 'to rid Libya of him.'

<snip>

The cleric, spiritual leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and longtime resident of Qatar, heads the International Union for Muslim Scholars.

Uhhhh............. didn't Uncle Ronnie order him to be killed?

I just love the selective memory of conservatives.

GotSteel -> RE: What is the Muslim Brotherhood (2/22/2011 2:46:41 PM)

That doesn't count, Regan was a RINO after all.

where would these islamic radicals secure nukes to nuke you with, umbrellaless one?

They are available at bargain basement rates two doors down the corridor from the International Communist Conspiracy offices. I'm told matching umbrellas (in very fetching tones of red white and blue) are on sale there too. No pass or code words necessary. Visa, Amex and MasterCard accepted.

Cruder versions can be found by searching deeply into the fears and neuroses of far-right wingers everywhere. Be careful though, those fears and neuroses are deep seated and contagious!

Edited in the garden under the cool shade of a nuke-proof umbrella [:D] [:D]

Sanity -> RE: What is the Muslim Brotherhood (2/23/2011 6:23:52 AM)

For example, Iran is building reactors, the Muslim Brotherhood is taking over entire countries, and North Korea is pawning missiles for cheap. And for the drooling morons who cant read a newspaper a nuclear umbrella is a well seasoned term used to describe a missile defense system.

GOD I hate teaching class to imbeciles

It might be slightly more impressive if you were ever able to back up your big talk.

I'll be waiting patiently.

I would be particularly interested in what countries the Muslim Brotherhood have taken over and exactly how they accomplished that.

Not one I've ever heard, but then there's lots of longstanding terms to describe things that have never existed outside of Robert Heinlein's head. "Generation starship" is another good one...

mnottertail -> RE: What is the Muslim Brotherhood (2/23/2011 7:35:52 AM)

Was Jefferson Starship a Heinlein job, then?

I'm tasting Muslim Brotherhood of Jedi Knights here, and I think we lack a few light years seeing this through.

Moonhead -> RE: What is the Muslim Brotherhood (2/23/2011 7:38:46 AM)

I think Heinlein was one of the inspirations for Blows Against The Empire: the twat Crosby had a hand in writing some of that, and he was big on Bobby H. Besides Charles Manson and the libertarian twat who wrote Bob Weir's lyrics for him, I think Crosby was the hippy who talked up Heinlein the most.

Teach your children well,
Their father's hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picked, the one you'll know by.

Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

And you, of tender years,
Can't know the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them with your youth,
They seek the truth before they can die.

“Cairo’s approval Friday, Feb. 18 for two Iranian warships to transit the Suez Canal on their way to the Mediterranean has brought Israel and Iran closer than ever before to a naval collision at sea. Debkafile reports: Israel has learned that the Iranian cruiser Kharg is carrying long-range missiles for Hizballah which it plans to unload at a Syrian port or Beirut harbor.” - perhaps this is one of the first acts of greater co-operation between Egypt and Israel’s enemies. With greater Iranian access through the Suez Canal, it will be a sign of things to come leading to military conflict as Israel will try to prevent armament shipments: http://www.crethiplethi.com/israel-iranian-warships-suez-missiles-hizballah/israel/2011/

You must have missed one of the first statements of the Egyptian military last week. The one where they said they would uphold the peace treaty with Israel.

mnottertail -> RE: What is the Muslim Brotherhood (2/23/2011 12:43:16 PM)

and the fact that the international treaty which has not been observed for thirty years says they pretty much gotta let anything thru...

and they let 11 american and 1 israeli warships thru to watch the iranian warships as well.

I heard the statement, and while that in itself is good news, it doesn't mean there won't be a greater level of co-operation with Israel's enemies. A worry is that it will worsen after elections since the MB are set to increase their influence a lot. According to reuters the French were also concerned. The significance is that it was the first time Iranian naval ships had crossed the canal and entered the Mediterranean since the 1979 Islamic revolution, so it represents a definite political message of closer ties - http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/news/iran-is-celebrating-mubarak-downfall-with-suez-crossing-1.345103

Ahhh, so we should trust the crystal ball of one who is so often wrong about the past and present. Makes sense...you're due to be right one of these decades.

Well, that sort of leaves you way the fuck out of the running then, don't it sport?

What crystal ball are you talking about Willbeur?

Either they are going to keep to their word or not.

Apparently you believe not.

Myself, I would take them at their word until proven otherwise.

So who is the one gazing into that ball?

What I said was exactly what was stated last week. I dont know if it will last and you sure as hell dont, it doesnt mean it wasnt said though.

You know, I tend to disregard anyone on here ho has a political avatar, as the image they use speaks volumes about their mind set.
